The Lack of FOTY Candidates in 2010?

    I was thinking about this earlier and theres only really a few fights that would even make my shotlist

    Ricky Burns v Roman Martinez
    Yonnhy Perez v Abner Mares
    Ivan Calderon v Giovanni Segura
    Froch v Kessler

    Can anyone else think of any other genuine candidates and also, when was the last year that it was as bad as this?

    That feels like so long ago. I actually feels like that fight was last year.

    Calderon - Segura was good but not that great, it was awfully one-sided at the end with Calderon constantly being walked down and beaten to a pulp.

    It'll probably end up being Kessler vs Froch, but you're right, this year was a bit lame.

    Pacquiao-Margarito will be explosive.

    Martinez-Williams will be explosive.

    Lopez-Marquez will be explosive.

    Donaire-Montiel (if it gets made) will be frought with high tension and suspense.

    Khan-Maidana will potentially be explosive.

    I say we've got a few FOTY candidates with Pac/Marg and Mart/Will as the frontrunners.
