i see ggg hater and canelo fans are happy like little boys. but what happened exactly?

first of all, it was a close fight. everybody agrees on that. but canelo won in vegas plus we had a golden boy promotions event. a person that claims ggg could win on points is maybe hallucinating. on the one side we had a very fresh canelo in PRIME. one the other side we had an 36 years old ggg already noticeable slowing down and OUT OF PRIME.

whats the summary of the whole context? everywhere exept in vegas, canelo would have lost BOTH fights. and the second point where canelo fans are shooting themselves in their own knees (german saying), is that canelo reached his peak - golovkin was out his peak and we had still an overwhelming majority of people worldwide who say that ggg won.

if you regard all these things, there is nothing to be happy about it. if you are a neutral boxing fan, you can`t be satisfied.

    I'm neutral I dislike both.

    GGG won part 1
    Canelo won part 2

GGG fans had a right to be disappointed in the 1st fight, but I didn't feel sorry for them after the Jacobs debacle.

Part 2 Canelo did everything GGG fans said he couldn't do. Canelo answered all questions. GGG did the exact opposite of what needed to be done so how can you claim robbery ffs.

Did you think GGG could win fighting so passively when the 1st fight was so controversial? So why are you crying lol

Golovkin knew he would lose in Vegas if it went to the cards.

He gambled and lost. Canelo has a tremendous chin, btw.

Did he really gamble though or did he play it too safe?

He should have said New York or GTFOH. Neutral judges make all the difference. I actually have my doubts whether he can KO Canelo at this point. Ginger has a much better chin at 160 and its clear that he was a bit of an idiot boiling down to 154 when his body is more suited to 160.

It didn't matter if that fight was held in Astana or GGGs very own back yard. The bloke did not win.

Canelo has a solid beard and did do a little wobble but GGG could not capitilize. In fact every time Canelo looked in danger he returned fire and fought GGG off and backed him up.

We now know beyond a doubt GGG is a front foot bully. Back him up and he will cower.

Thats what I expect would have always happened if he fought Young Christopher.

GGG doesn't have the finesse of a Billy Joe or Groves. CEJ would hit him 4 shots to his 1. GGG is made for Young Christopher.

GGG should have received the decision in the first fight but let's get real.

He'd never fought in Las Vegas previously in his life.

What did he expect? Them to roll out the red carpet for a blow-in?

That's not how it works & never has been.

He knew that but couldn't hurt Canelo because he was on the backfoot possibly more than Canelo was in the first fight.

Everybody was well aware of their age, size, and credentials going in. You're acting like you just learned this.

As far as those thinking GGG could win on points hallucinating, well, almost all of them didn't. They picked him to score an early KO. It was supposed to be competitively a non-contest, remember?

that's how you saw that fight? that explains a lot :D remind me, how many times was Golovkin trapped against the ropes? This is actual ring generalship, GGG fought remaining his distance at all times without being trapped. That's how it is done. You can see the the difference in the first fight when GGG came forward, Canelo could not keep off the ropes.

One of aspects that Canelo bested Golovkin in that match is his counters. It's slick, powerful and accurate. Those counters are something that I honestly think GGG have trouble with. I suspect that counters made GGG become more careful and didn't want to take the risk to do some moves (e.g. body shots) and eventually change his strategy to outbox, which is not his strong style.
