The lack of respect for Povetkin is ridiculous

Is that actually on the cards? Ortiz is going to step up to the plate to take the Sugar Rob Helenius challenge? Huge respect to Ortiz if so.

Helenius said he's willing to face Ruiz or Ortiz in a final eliminator for the WBA. I think Ortiz is more likely to take the fight. Isn't Ruiz fighting Arreola next?

I'm going to be bitterly disappointed if Ortiz doesn't accept the Sugar Rob challenge.

Yes, I believe Fat Andy vs Arreola is a go thanks to the boxing gods weaving their magic.

Agreed. It's an interesting matchup for a lot of reasons. Ortiz would be the rightful favorite but Helenius who is having a bit of a regurgance would be a live dog due to his power and Ortiz's age. Let's not forget that Helenius beat Kownacki largely fighting on the backfoot(usually backed into the ropes no less) imagine based on that fight as well as the pattern of recent fights of his in general that's the role he would take here. Which means he would almost certainly give up rounds while still having a good chance at catching the aging and slowing Ortiz with a big shot. Very interesting crossroads matchup. Hopefully the boxing gods will throw us a bone with that one for taking the **** with Ruiz/Arreola.

I like Povetkin but how can you defend the PED usage and bash others for it?

Povetkin gets a pass for Meldonium in my opinion because it was legal a few months prior and he tested positive for a trace amount. To me, that shows he was using it while he was legal and they found residual traces in his system.

However, he tested positive for Ostarine. You can't have it both ways. He's tested positive twice, one time being excusable. The other is not. Some of you on here are being blatant fanboys.

All athletes use PEDs, Drug testing is used to blackmail athletes whenever needed

I am not excusing him but it is a fact that Ostarine is known to be illegally put in over-the-counter supplements.

Povetkin is responsible for what goes into his body, but these things have degrees and specifics. To me, he has served his time, is complying with testing, and I intend to enjoy the rest of the ride.

When his career is over, if you want to argue that it knocks him down a notch or two, we'll talk.
