No more feather dusting, potshotting, ducking and shoulder rolling. This is boxing FFS. Get in there and bang.

Glad to see that all the next cheap imitations of Floyd Mayweather are failing epically these days.

Look up and down the weights. Almost all the top guys are going in there and bringing pro boxing back to what it is supposed to be and aught to be. And that is sitting down on some hard power shots and thumping away.

For sure. When I watch a world level fight I want to see two mother****ers trying to kill the **** out of each other. When I see punches land I want to be pretty damn sure there's some serious damage being done to some brain matter.

The undercard novices and amateurs can feather dust and take it easy from time to time, especially it they are starting out or being paid little. But the main eventers ought to be knocking the hell out of each other. And if it's pay-per-view and world championship, I want to see someone sent to the ****ing hospital.
    Preferably intensive care unit.

    Real boxing. :deal:

I'm totally ashamed to admit this because its brain damaging, but I totally agree. I want some serious destruction and damage in that ring.

Hell, even the light hitters today like Usyk and Fury are walking these guys down and giving these guys a serious ass thumping.

Yeah, actually I think professional boxing isn't really morally defensible.

But as long as it exists, I'll be watching and hoping for real violence.

If you look at all the most popular fighters in history, the vast majority were crushing punchers, or guys who had vicious killer instincts or guys who had gruelling wars. At least 90% I'd say, of the top fighters, the ones people still talk about.

I agree. From my perspective, few things are as entertaining as two world class athletes in a square ring, going toe to toe, savagely, in an incredible intense fight.

I agree and my theory is it is not just because they are more entertaining in the ring. It's also that the vast majority of ATGs are very aggressive fighters.

There are few genuine ATGs in the sports history who are feather dusters, risk averse and potshotters.

People say defense wins fights, but a study of boxing history can only leave one conclusion, actually, no it doesn't.

A lot of modern boxing fans are more fans of celebrity than boxing. They think amateur boxing is awful as there's no fame/money/clout. They know more about the cribs reality TV elements of boxers than what actually happens in the ring. Some of them think they're in tune with the business dealings etc. A lot of stuff no one used to give a **** about comprises the bulk of what a lot of "fans" consume.

This. A lot of fans these days and people all over YouTube talk about purses and money and business deals. And I'm sitting there thinking, I really, really, dont care.

Bob Arum has fans. Which boggles my mind.

This is going too far wishing anyone to be hurt that badly, intensive care means is one step away from death. No one deserves that

In my honest opinion Floyd was NOT a fighter . he basically could not FIGHT!!!!! he just ran & held while pot shotting. on fight he was called on to FIGHT !! Maidana 1 He failed badly & ended up in tears like a little girl crying:crybaby2::crybaby2:that "Maidana had roughed him & beaten him up yet ref Tony Weekes did nothing to stop him" ROFLMAO!!! its YOUR job to fight back this is the fight game not dancing with the stars. But you solved the problem Uncle Kenny Bayless was hired to officiate, he made sure Marcos was given no chance of winning in the rematch. I WONT MENTION THE LUDICROUS " HE BIT ME " CLAIM!! ROFL Pooor Kenny was thunderstruck didn't know wha t do . lol

I think it's best when there is a good mix of styles at the top. Nothing worse than watching two mediocre slicksters though and we got a lot of that for a while.

I think, conceptually, having something for men who are strong, have a high capacity for violence, and not a lot of other options can be defended even though it involves trading health for money.

We live in a transient world of woe where some people have no good options. It's scary to think of what Floyd and Tyson would have been doing all through the 90s if they didn't have boxing.

How it's actually done though, and the high number of fighters who take damage and actually pay money for the privilege is what's wrong.
