Bah. Stupid suggestion. I want to watch boxing, not punches. If a top level fight is the same as watching two idiots in my gym throwing punches without any freaking sense... then you can have it all, man, I want none of that.

To watch punches I dont need top level fighters, two idiots willing to lose neurons are enough.

Yeah. I was overstressing my point. Being provocative.
I don't actually want anyone to end up in intensive care. But the level of violence that attracts me to a fight will unfortunately, inevitably, sometimes result in something like that.
That's why I offer no defence of the existence of professional boxing. But I am not going to deny that I like to see brutal KOs and savage wars.

Umm I was always under the impression that the 2nd, most profitable part of Floyd's career he didn't sit on his punches as often because of multiple hand injuries that amounted to brittle hands. So he fought a high level skilled style that could beat any opponent without hurting himself constantly. Check his fights at other weights, Floyd could be pretty nasty as a puncher in the earlier part of his career. And with that said perhaps 147 was beyond his optimal weight class and maybe also robbed him a bit of his punching power...just thinking out loud tho.

The sarcasm comes through clearly enough.

I will admit that I prefer watching punchers, which probably reveals the same moral failings you point out in the next post. That said, it's occasionally fun to watch the slicksters when they're extreme about it: the guys who take their negative, elusive nonsense to obnoxious levels, where the audience is wondering "Why can't Bonecrusher McFist just hit this guy?"

I agree, I think more boxers should take the Canelo route, meaning they should be sitting down on every single punch even if they’re not natural punchers. Obviously that’s never gonna happen but it’d be great to watch
