Now 10-0 (7), this Philadelphia welterweight just made a fan in chopping down a fellow unbeaten prospect in the much taller Said El Harrak on Showtime.

He showed good offensive fundamentals with his tight, compact, and voluminous punching. In addition to his technique he showed smarts in ducking out of the way of the flames (sorry, couldn't resist) of his rangy opponent before axing through the front door and hosing him down for good.

The stoppage came at a strange moment but wasn't exactly premature as it was one of those that could have justifiably come sooner.

Gotta like a heroic worker bee making good even in a small way like this, especially as a part-time boxer (a busy one, with ten appearances in a year and a half in addition to his dayjob).

That was the toughest fire he's had to put out, but at the end of the night Martin Tucker was left smoldering.

    What happens if he loses?

"Lane tried to put out the fire but the fire of -insert fighter here- was too strong. It overwhelmed Lane and he was just left watching as the fire burnt down his undefeated dreams."

 He just cofeatured on a FNF and outshined the "main attraction" by a very wide margin.

If he's obscure it's because he's only had 11 professional fights. He's a very hot prospect.

    In fact,

At least he didn't stink out the joint like Porter did.

Being a firefighter i've got to give the man his props. Good skill level, the only thing he seems to be lacking is a big punch. Sharp fighter though.

    12-0.

Ol' John Brown raged against the dying of a light, but LL simply kept the nozzle fixed on him and sprayed right through the window for six straight rounds.

A good win, but not a huge step up. He's about ready for some heat, I'd say.

The point has to be conceded to Tessitore...guys who bark every time they connect may be limiting themselves...aside from not having the breath for long combinations as Atlas pointed out, it occurs to me that other notable guys who share this trait (Juan Diaz, Lamont Peterson, Jameel McCline) are all guys who don't necessarily lack in strength but to a man are guilty of not sitting down on most of their punches. Maybe it would serve these dudes to breathe out through their nose and reallocate that little oomph from their diaphragm into their legs (whence punching power originates).

I only saw the first 3 rounds. Then Teddy Atlas picked Martinez over Pavlik, and I had to run upstairs and make a post on ESB so I could let all Sergio's fans in on the good news:hey
