You assume too much no need to be a Douchekebab. I have one question what does he do that amazes you so much on the inside? Lol seeing as you must have an argument handy.
Sure, Langford was excellent at manipulating opponent's position inside. You can see him circling around Flynn and setting up powerful uppercuts with high leverage. Another thing is that Langford could set up power punches without much space available. I won't create a big post breaking down Langford's inside game, but he was very successful fighting that way. He had to, he was 5'7 fighter competing against top tier big guys.
Langfords outside game was outstanding too, he would walk into your space drawing your jab (ala rocky etc) but unlike Rocky he was very good at leading if you wouldnt bite on throwing a jab to stop him from coming into your space! (look at those lead right hands and lead hooks he threw at flynn!
I believe Langford was for real, big time .. he went best vs best again Gans, Walcott, Ketchel, Johnson and Wills .. I view him at his best at say 160 to 175 as a better, faster, much harder hitting version of Qwai with a cruiserweight wingspan. He was very crafty, very strong, clearly had good speed, a concrete chin ( as a middleweight taking punches from heavyweights ) , decent defense and all time great power .. if the best middleweight Ray fought was LaMotta and Jake gave him trouble I'm sure Sam would be a monster .. maybe Ray decisions him or maybe he doesn't but it's an insane match up and like many can be determined by glove size, distance, ring size, etc ..
that answer reminded me of an unprepared person answering a discussion question on a school test. LOL, "manipulating", "high leverage", he should have just admitted he didn't have anything and saved himself the embarrassment. Like a good counter puncher, you set the trap and he walked right in!
My exact thoughts. I had to do it I know he doesn't know sh1t and would pull the "Leverages N Stuff" talk.
Oh I that idiot on he ignore list, No arguments just declarations I dont have time for skip bayless/stephen a smith dummies!
This. Langford at 160 to 175 defeats or at least is highly competitive with anyone within that range. SRR couldn't ko him, could possibly win a 12 red decision, but he could also get ko'd.
