I'm not native speaker, so it's possible that I don't use right words all the time. I'm not going to waste my time on you though, **** off.
Why did you change your name to Samtotheg? Obviously you're still in my fan club. Tell me what I said about Sun kil Moon, Im sure you have it catalogued. I know that you look up to me, but you need to get over your obsession with me. It's not healthy for an adult to follow another adult around like a puppy. I can't even remember your last screen name and unfortunately, I ignore your posts because there is nothing original and you have little/no knowledge of the subject. Some advice, you should spend your time learning about boxing, your posting would improve too. I almost forgot, in reference to your question, I'm not going to watch some primitive boxing from over 100 years ago and I'm not going to bother to write an answer about technique and skill to a person who has no understanding of technique and skill in boxing. The only reason I answered you this time is that I was curious as to why you changed your screen name. I'm guessing you were embarrassed after being exposed as a know nothing under the old name?
I literally typed boxingforum24 jim driscoll and read your goofy ass post on the skillset of Jim driscoll ,same way i typed sinister jim driscoll and saw an accurate post on the skillset of driscoll, of course you dont have an answer on Langfords skillset , you are the pot calling the kettle back here .(the sun kil moon reference is who refered to in that thread as perfect boxer just lololol dumb dumb!)
make sure you talk about infighting with Pat M who doesnt know **** ,thats why he wants answer cuz he doesnt know **** despite being a boxing trainer (prolly for jenny craig cardio boxing classes)
He thinks you are one of alts here, which is ridiculous. It's definitely your first account from what I've seen.
Langford seems pretty perfect to beat Robinson, TBH. Robinson's stylistic issues always came from short, stocky infighters. Robinson had distinct issues imposing himself vs the physically stronger. He arguably lost the rematch to Marty Servo, who applied plenty of pressure. He named one of the Fritzie Zivic fights as his hardest fight. He struggled with LaMotta in their earlier fights. Arguably lost to Georgie Abrams, refused to mix it up inside vs Gavilan, drew with Brimm and lost to Turpin. Drew with Basora, got bashed up by Ralph Jones, went life and death with Castellani, he lost the series with Fullmer, and he struggled massively, and lost, to Carmen Basilio. I don't think there's any argument Langford was better than all of these men. Throw in Langford's seismic power, granite chin and immense ability to dominate in the clinch, and you have someone who I think can definitely beat Robinson. What'd give me pause, is that Langford didn't really do much at 160; and there's no way of really knowing how he'd deal with the speed. Robinson was a blur, and I don't know if there's anybody who Langford beat who was in that category.
You're not being fair to SRR, he was past his best when he lost to Fullmer, Basilio, even against Ralph Jones. Turpin was the only one who beat him when he was in his prime, and even then, Ray was tired since he was on an exhibition tour.
I listed countless examples. Some were prime, some weren't. I was incredibly fair, I just wasn't ignoring an obvious pattern. Robinson's stylistic foil were pressure fighters, and he never fought one as good as Langford.
I wonder who was the closest to SRR that Sam fought. Gans is comparable in terms of level, but he was quite different and of course smaller. Maybe Young Peter Jackson? Do you have anyone else in mind?
