Gold World Championships count too? Wladimir beat Chagaev, Mercer, Povetkin, Byrd (Silver Medal I know) Ibragimov.

And those guys actually WON and earned their Golds and Silvers without home town bull**** ;)

Wtf happened to Felix Diaz? When was the last time an Olympic Gold medalist performed so poorly on the world stage?
Was his Olympic opposition just weak or did his style translate over too poorly?
Ffs, Audley Harrison had a more successful career.

Why would a 190 pound man fight a 250 pound man

As with AJ, Park Si-hun,Tony Yoka, Tishchenko and numerous others, Diaz didn't really deserve his gold medal as he should've lost in his semi-final against the Frenchman Alexis Vastine (RIP)

Olympic gold medalist and world amateur gold medalist Egor Mehontsev has been performing really poorly in the pros

Haye got silver at the Worlds in 2001, losing to Odlanier Solis.

He never competed at the Olympics.

However the Worlds can be harder than the Olympics, obviously depending on the draw.

He's a huge guy, had decent skills, and could hit really hard with his southpaw left. That said, again, as with many others, he had his fair share of luck on his way to the final. He was 2 points down in round 4 against the Russian Lezin, who was the reigning world champion at the time and I suspect very likely the favourite for gold in those Olympics, and 2 of Harrison's points had been added to his score after the ref had penalized Lezin (it looked harsh to me) for something in round 2. The ref then controversially decided to wave the bout off in the 4th after Harrison wobbled Lezin with a big left hand, which neither Lezin or his corner were happy about and it's not like Lezin had been in any trouble earlier on in the bout or taken much punishment.

****! I got stopped the same way in the amateurs. My opponent hurt me(i didn't wobble like Lezin) and i put myself in a bad position by bending down too low.
The ref rightfully counted me and then stopped the fight in the exact same manner. If you are going to stop it then ****ing stop it!!! Don't call for the action to continue and then immediately wave it off.
I can imagine what Lezin felt. It's so sudden, left me in a bit of a shock. I had just come to my senses. I quickly recapped what happened and i was ready to fight and take back the point. And bang! Fight gets stopped.

lol that sucks. Lezin was either punched or shoved out of position and Audley cracked him with a sneaky shot that would've hurt anyone. But like I said, he was 2 points up and hadn't been hurt or taken any punishment prior to that and he looked fine to continue to me.

Even by amateur standards, that was way too quick.
I didn't watch the whole fight, but that was the first time he was hurt, right?
I am actually happy that the IOC is likely to ban boxing from the Olympics. **** AIBA.

    Yeah.

No he hadn't been remotely hurt by anything prior to that.

Larry Holmes has done three: Ali, Leon Spinks & Ray Mercer.

    Talk to the hand, AJ.

Usyk should fight eliminators against Solis, Camarelle, and Chakiev for the opportunity
