Poolev - Stood still with his arms flapping about in the air.
Jennings - High guard and moved around in circles.

Same Wlad / Different opponents. Ya dig?

I have no faith sorry :icon_domokun:
I think Pov and AJ have comparable power, give or take, Wlad's tactics won't work with a British ref, they had a foreign ref for Jennings fight and he wouldn't allow Wlad any of the dirty stuff, it actually threw him off his game.
Why do you think his jab won't work?

And you of all people are going against Wlad, the right are turning left, the left are turning right, pretty soon the sky will turn red and it'll start raining blood, the end is near.

It wasn't exactly a honest assessment to list about 10 heavyweights that brought more to the table than AJ, Most of the guys you mentioned rolled over without a fight.

No... that's what Wlad does to opponents, when nothing you are doing is working and you're scared of what's coming back at you, it makes even the best fighter somewhat tentative.

I agree with you that they don't realise how good he is until they are in with him(mainly because he has a safety first and disciplined style), but you won't convince anyone of fair mind that the names you had up have more to offer than AJ.

    Good piece.
    Things I agree with:

1 - Klitschko was made to look bad by Fury - too many people denigrate Klitschko rather than praise Fury in this circumstance. Fury MADE Wlad look bad.

2 - Klitschko should not be written off after that performance. He still has an awesome jab and right hand, his fundamentals are solid as a rock, and he has plenty of tools in the chest to cause issues for Joshua in many different factors.

3 - Hearn may indeed have made a mistake by booking this fight for Joshua as you suggest - however Joshua is a CHAMPION and must fight these kind of fights to have any credibility.

    Things I disagree with:

1 - You refer to Joshua as an 'one dimensional power puncher'. This is at best very harsh, and at worst patently not true.

2 - You undermine Joshua's competition level and imply he has been protected. He has in fact been moved rather quickly for a 18 fight novice, fighting early on against cagey veterans and journeymen (as most people do), then moving onto 4 undefeated prospects at similar career junctures to him, a 'champion', and now in only his 19th fight a legend. There are many more names we would all like to see him fight, and all in good time. His trajectory has been significantly better than most in my opinion. It's contradictory to say that Hearn has made a huge mistake matching him against Wlad, whilst also implying he has been protected.

My two cents - this is a great crossroads fight, deserving of the attention and gravity it is attracting. Kudos for Joshua for acting like a champ and fighting the best. Kudos to Klitschko for having the passion and drive to fight the dangerman in the division to reclaim former glories. What's not to love about that? It's a true pick-em fight, something us boxing fans find in shorter and shorter supply nowadays, and they have both evidently trained hard and professionally and treated one another with the respect they each deserve.

This is what boxing is all about - glad to see it being heralded in this great way. Best of luck to both men, and let's hope they get the opportunity to put on a fight between the winner and the real champion (like it or not, just a fact) Tyson Fury next.

People who die on Mt.Everest die trying to climb back down bc their oxygen runs out. Once at the top Joshua will stay there bc the object is not to climb down its to stay on the top of the mountain. Of course Mt.Everest is easier to climb these days bc they have guide lines and actual training program for a few weeks that you can take to prepare such a climb ....joshua has that blue print and all the training he will need to climb klitchko on the 29th!

Joshua himself just has to perform and make few mistakes and he wins. Wlad makes ONE mistake it could be over worse case for him ruin the tempo of the fight. Joshua is highly favored watching his previous workouts posted,as good as Wlad looks ....Joshua is one over on him. and the troubling thing for Wlad WILL be the explosive footwork by Joshua. He will almost impossible to defeat if hes on point.

Everyone should remember its Joshua vs klitchko this means one must realize everything else of points and views in between is just odds and ends. At the end of the day its who's going to win between THEM and in doing that one has to counteract the others style and strengths...this isnt about resumes or he did what and when...on April 29th the winner will be the one that fought smart/ and better to actually use everything they trained for.

You couldnt create more of a nightmare fighter for Klitchko a pressure patient power puncher who doesnt need a jab and matches him in size unless you brought Ivan Drago out of the Rocky movies.........something AJ is close to reflecting each and every fight, hes really a Lewis/Tyson hybrid. Can Wlad beat a guy like that?

Wlad at his best still would have his hands full he has a SLIGHT chance due to Joshuas inexperiance and a punchers chance he COULD land..slight could be miss by inch or mile i have him around 30% chance to win more than fare..... I'll leave it at that! :demon7:

Vlad has a much better chance than most are giving him..................they expect Joshua to easily knock Vlad out in the first round or two, but I don't think that can happen.................Vlad is, by far, the better boxer, has the power to knock Joshua out, if Whyte can stagger and hurt Joshua, Vlad will murder him................if he lands a solid shot...........Vlad easily out boxed Joshua in sparring not too long ago, how much has Joshua improved since then and how much has Vlad gone down hill is the question. Vlad, at this moment, is looking fantastic in training/sparring, he's in shape and up for the fight....................not seen him this good in years............

Ward is more comparable to John Ruiz than Wlad. He got dropped heavily by Kovalev and then grabbed and hugged for the remainder of the fight hoping to hear the final bell
