    a name boxing fans will recognise but in fifty years time will be forgotten.in another fifty years time any boxing fan will know about ali,srr,even pacman but casamayor wont be an instant recognition.

    I don't think it's a particularly strong resume in the grand scheme of things, well it wasn't. Let's have it right. But he has a good record, and beat some of the best fighters of the era, he also has a trilogy with Corrales that might just be remembered very fondy in future times. The only thing was, he lost to a top dog, albeit very competetively at crucial times, more than once. But he then went on and earned a proper world championship at lightweight, proving his good longevity.

    I'm a Casamayor fan, like his style, and in his prime i thought he was just class to watch

    I tend to think that's correct, as a pro. As an amatuer he is somewhat legendary though.

    I really don't think he'll be totally forgotten in 50 years, just look at the Classic forum.

    One of the greatist Lightweights of this era, true HOFer and really only has 1 undesputable loss. IMHO great legacy.
