@Badbot I'm still floored by your statement that "If he keeps up his level of competition, I think he cold get in..."

What more would he possibly need to do after Canelo? I assume you'd require him to clear the hurdle of victory in that fight, but then what? GGG II, maybe Charlo, Andrade, BJS ...uh, Wlliams? Horn? Brant? He will as of May 4th have already fought on even terms (IMO he will do the same with Canelo regardless of the result) with most of the best middleweights. At what point does enough become enough for you Jacobs skeptics? :sisi1

As a switch hitter, he's not as dangerous as guys like Hagler (historically) and Crawford (currently), but he does switch well enough to allow to get different looks on offence second tier guys like Fletcher, and to reset against and disrupt top flight guys like GGG. It's a nice tool to have in his kit, and it's one that, IIRC, he started to emphasize after being outmaneuvered by another switch-hitter in Pirog.

Jacobs is possibly my favorite active middleweight. I couldn't for the life of me understand why so many people were writing him off against Quillin.

OK, Tolstoy but I seem to remember a guy by the name of Buster who turned his mother's death into one of the most inspirational upsets in history. Sometimes when you are given lemons you make lemonade. Jacobs is an even better role model than fighter but I thought Golovkin beat him, no maybes, and had Sulecki not been KD'd I think that fight could have easily gone his way.

    And, boy, Pirog was talented.

    Guess you missed this part:

But that is understandable with that millennial attention span leading you to disparagingly call the author of a forum post of reasonable length "Tolstoy". :D

Didn't miss it and check my bio. I've also read War and Peace and reading this post it was starting to feel like Prince Bokonski staring up into the clouds on that gloriously sunny day as he was dying. wink

Jacobs jab is one of the most underrated in boxing, and he often uses it when hes fighting on the back foot or on his way out which is something special to see. Regularly scoring with jabs on his way out.

Yup. His run pre 2017 wasn´t HOF worthy. But a few more solid wins and he is a likely lock.
