    Yeah the manner of victory pushes it over the top, even if Quillin wasn't as good as people thought, icing him in ninety seconds is quite a feat. People don't give that victory the due credit I think because Jacobs is still perceived as "damaged goods" so they just rationalize that Quillin having been exposed as garbage is easier to wrap their heads around than Jacobs actually destroying a very good (but not great) titlist.

    @CST80, you've been conspicuously reserved on the subject, not a single post from you in this or the Jacobs vs. Álvarez poll thread...

    My (totally speculative) read on the situation is that you kinda like Danny, and on paper would be thrilled for him to upset Canelo, but you're reticent to go all-in for him because of your long-standing GGG loyalty - I believe you had Golovkin beating Jacobs clearly, so it probably annoys you when people use that fight to praise Jacobs, as it probably seems like a dig at Golovkin (even if you know rationally that someone like me for instance doesn't call that fight close from a place of "hating" on GGG) ...plus, it would be a drag if Golovkin were to have gotten robbed twice only for Jacobs to beat Álvarez...because if by stoppage, that means having to accept that Golovkin is more greatly diminished than we believe, and if on points it would seem totally unfair because why should Jacobs get fair scoring but not him?

    Is that...even close?

    Saw a gorgeous young lady at D/FW airport she had a tee shirt on saying BUCK FOSTON . A woman standing next to me suddenly realised what it meant.     Not necessarily, but I'd be lying if I said all of those thoughts hadn't crossed my mind.

    I really like Danny, and I would love for him to upset Canelo, but... if he does, I'm not looking forward to the propaganda from the GGG bashers at all. But ultimately, I also think Jacobs is on a downward trajectory, I thought he lost the Derevyanchenko match by a point, and the Sulecki match could have gone either way. So I have a hard time seeing him beating Canelo outright, I think it'll be tight, another one where it could go either way, so I'm also not looking forward to the countless threads that potential result could spawn. Also it wouldn't shock me in the least if Canelo KO's him, Canelo has gotten better and his power has improved now that he's not draining himself, and the precision and angles of his counters will pose a huge risk for Danny's questionable mandible. And if that happens, I'm not looking forward to the staggering amount of Canelo's power>>>>GGG's power threads, that will have me wanting to pull my hair out. Personally I think GB and Canelo are getting Danny at the right time, he's still good enough that it'll look like a huge win, even though I think he's on the slide, its not obvious enough for most casual viewers, if Canelo KO's him, that'll give him a moral and propaganda victory over GGG, and a leg up in the Canelo-GGG 3 negotiations, and thirdly, while I think Canelo can beat him without the help of the judges, but even if he doesn't, Canelo will win, so either of those outcomes will annoy me.

    Basically the only outcome I'd love to see is Danny by KO, and the likelihood of that happening is slim. So I'm not getting my hopes up. So everything about this match is kind of annoying me low level. So I'm just keeping my mouth shut.

    I've been a supporter of Jacob's for years. Hes beaten a lot of quality fighters. And his two losses were against the H2H best Middleweights of his era.

    If he beats Canelo he is an absolute lock for HOF. Would become an ATG Middleweight. Maybe not ATG in the p4p sense, but a historically relevant 160 pounder.
