Before Mosley fought Cotto, I was sure that Mosley's speed would be too much for Cotto. I was very surprized at how Cotto was actually beating Mosley to the punch more often than not. It was clear that speed alone might not be enough to beat Cotto....

From that fight, 1 major thing stood out:
Mosley was coming straight in on Cotto looking to land the right hand, he was rarely giving him any angles. People know that Cotto needs to plant his feet to be effective and if guys come straight in, then he can fire his shots on target while countering. Therefore Manny's speed will need to come from both hands while giving Cotto different looks at all times.

Have you seen Cottos superman jab? He doesnt need to be planted to throw that piston Jab: Look at the Clottey fight first round. Look at the Zab fight. Just dont look at the Margarito fight since Pac will fight nothing like that. That jab along with the body attack will be Pacs downfall.

Well yeah, Cotto's feet do need to be set to unleash his powerpunches. That's why he isn't the greatest move around boxer in the world, because he needs to stop in order to punch. With that in mind Pacquiao does have to give angles to Cotto and also keep away from the stronger man and basically adapt the same gameplan for Cotto that he had for De La Hoya.

One thing I will say is that Mosley's right hand was actually prety effective against Miguel Cottto. Problem is that whenever Shane would land a right hand instead of finishing it off with a left hook or opening up with a combination, all the moron would do is fall into a ****ing clinch. That **** might have worked against Mayorga and Margarito, but it didn't work for him against Cotto.

Jab & Straight lead right hand's + Left Hook Leads.
Will thwart Manny's in & out, Bop & weave movement.

Zab had Cotto hurt several times in the fight. The one thing Zab exposed against Cotto is that if youre fast and stand in there and bang with him, he can be hurt and is susceptible. Mosley wouldnt stay in there too long or could continue to deliver punches after one or 2 shots. You should re-watch the Zab Cotto fight. Zab rocked Cotto a few times were Cotto looked to be in trouble. I think Pac will fight very similarly to Zab in that he is fast and will at times engage and trade shots. I think Zab could have KO'd Cotto had he landed a few more shots during exchanges and not gotten gased. I think Pac may be able to do this. I dont think Pac beats Cotto by boxing, I think he beats him by getting in exchanges, landing fast accurate shots, and having the stamina to weather Cotto's storm unlike an older shot Zab.

The speed will have to come from his hands AND feet..

    Combinations... and uppercuts....

That is exactly what Pac cannot do. If Pac engages in a toe to toe fight with Cotto, the Pacman will get stopped inside 5 rounds.:thumbsup
