Anyone disagree? The pure fact that Calzaghe is fighting Jones for the "Light Heavyweight Championship" makes this statement true.

No, the heavyweight division is. Dawson will clean things up. We need some new blood in the division.

No at least the Heavyweights have an established #1 with a decent resume including former champioins and #1 contenders.

Tarver beats an over the hill Jones
Hopkins beats a lazy, unmotivated and overconfident Tarver in his first fight at 175lb since his first pro fight in his career
Then "defends" against a fat Lt Middleweight at 170lbs
Then loses his fake title to Calzaghe in Calzaghe's first ever fight at 175lbs
and now Calzaghe is defending this "title" against Roy Jones who just fought Tito at 170lbs????

This is a ****ing joke

It is the recycling of fighters that is a joke - Felix Trinidad shouldn't be anywhere near a boxing ring, and neither should Jones, but it is the dumbass spectators that keep paying for the events that encourage the likes of GBP and HBO to put these events on.

No one can compete with Wlad. It makes it a bad division since no one can beat him and their is no excitiment in that.

Well... having 2 LHW's in the P4P rankings, no3 and no4 at The Ring, no2 and no4 at ESPN makes this statement false. No need to mention no5 fights in that division vs. no4 soon...

Well....having Bernard Hopkins in the P4P rankings is bull****. And calling him a Lt Heavy is bull**** too, his last three fights, including Pavlik, are against fighters who he called up :deal He is a man without a division that is simply fighting at or around 175lbs, end of story. And he got beat by Calzaghe, looked subpar against a grossly fat and out of shape Wright, wow did good against Tarver and got beat twice by Jermain Taylor. Why the **** is this guy still in the P4P list???????

And Calzaghes only fights, including Jones, are against guys waaaay past their prime and either nearing or over 40yrs old. Not P4P material either :deal

Calzaghe is #2 yes, we know that, but who si supposed to be the other guy? Hopkins? Tarver? RJJ? Dawson? None of them should be thee.

    Hopkins should be #8-10
    Tarver #30
    RJJ #31
    Dawson #12

    Calzaghe would be No. 3
Hopkins just outside the top 10

The others, Dawson, Tarver and Jones nowhere - though Tarver would be above both easily

I can't wait for this older generation to flush out in the next 12 months so i can see guys like Kessler, Pavlik and Dawson in the middle of things.

This is more of the case of the Old Dog with a New Bone.

These old guys are just trying to beef up their last paychecks before calling it a career.

Seems like a lot of the Old "Bigger Name" Fighters are doing this:

    Jones
    Calzaghe
    Hopkins
    De la Hoya
    Wright
even Tito - MAB - & Morales are looking to make one last run.

They are only looking for High Profile Fights before the end comes. But you really can't blame them. They say the hardest thing for most Boxers is leaving the Spotlight.

Was there no excitement because nobody could beat Joe Louis or Larry Holmes?
