The topic of lighter weight fighter moving up to heavyweight has always fascinated me because there are so many routes they could have taken otherwise. Floyd Patterson was a middleweight champion in the Olympics, and didn't seem to have much difficulty in making the light heavyweight limit. I read somewhere on here before that Liston offered to promote Patterson as a light-heavyweight after their fight, which would have opened up many potential fights for him with the likes of Johnson, Pastrano, Torres, Tiger and Foster all active in the 60s and thereabouts. With his record at heavyweight, how great do you think he could have been had he chosen to campaign as a light-heavyweight for the remainder of his career? Michael Moorer, who also moved up in weight to become heavyweight champion, fascinates me similarly. I feel that in the 90s, had he remained as a light heavyweight, he could easily have reigned as undisputed champion, then taken the same route as Roy Jones did. Had his resume came with names such as McCallum, Hill, Michalczewski and Toney along with the occasional win at Cruiser/Heavy against some of the more beatable champions, how much higher would you rate him P4P? I ask these questions because I feel that these two fighters had the head-to-head ability to make it as an all time great fighter ahd they chosen to campaign at their most natural weight class. Sadly, none of them rate anywhere close to most guys' top P4P lists, when they both had the gifts to make it. I would honestly favor Floyd over Bob Foster, who makes most guys' top P4P lists out of pure dominance at light heavyweight alone (he does not have a single great light heavyweight name on his resume), and I would also favor Moorer over everyone Jones fought. Attached below is an article about Moorer and the state of the light heavyweight division then that I found very interesting. https://www.si.com/vault/1990/12/24...re-profitable-bout-with-wba-champ-virgil-hill
