There is nothing wrong with catchweight fights as long as no championship is on the line. However when one is on the line the correct weight should be the limit. The Saul Alvarez vs. Matthew Hattonbout is sechuled for the WBC light middleweight or as they call it super welterweight championship. The weight limit for the bout is not 154 but 150. This is the second WBC 154 championship fight in a row with Pacquiao's win over Margarito for the WBC 154 championship being fought at 150 as well. I dose not matter if they agreed to the catchweight. The light middleweight is 154. If this keeps happing they should just make a new weight class. Call it the really light middleweight or the not as super as the super welterweight weight class.

The problem is that it was changed at the last minute, and done so only to accomadate Alvarez not being able to or not wanting to make 150, which has given him yet another advantage over an already handicapped opponent.

I completely agree, title fights should not have catch weights. I have no interest in this fight anyway.

From the commission's stand point it is a 154 division fight as long as fighters don't go over the limit of 154 lbs. Look Alverez didn't honor the catchweight but apparently they're still going through with it. The catchweights is an agreement between the two camps. Fault the party that is asking for the catchweight if you need to, then the other party for agreeing to it.

BS. As long as a both fighters are between 147 and 154 pounds it´s a light mw fight. 154 is the upper limit not more, not less. It would even be a lmw fight if both weighed 147.5 pounds.

No no.......the ******* say's that since Mathew Hatton did'nt have to drain, he should be good to go to destroy the drained Canelo Alvarez.

154 is a LIMIT! ****ing sick of these threads cropping up. Above 147 and below 154 = light middleweight.

O well the very little chance Hatton had is completely gone now. Really bad Alvarez might not be as confident and feels he needs the extra weight why would he do that..

Hey, I'm just throwing back what they think is good for Pacquiao at their own face.

Formidable is a ******* who thinks the drained Alvarez is at an advantage.......

Hey Formidable, was Pacquiao at an advantage because he was bigger than Marquez in the rematch?????

Alvarez is at an advantage but Pacquiao was not?:nut:nut:nut

......when you *******s make dumb statements like that, you'd best be prepared to defend it, because I'm here to make sure that you do!:deal:deal:bbb

DIVAC is a hopeless ****! There's not a bit of objectivity in him and his hatred towards PAC and fans knows no boundaries. He's the alter ego of his god MARQUEZ. :hat
