Right on, about the first part. Dont expect Bute to fight Kessler soon.
The money (interest) will be better down the road.
Besides i firmly believe that Kessler will go hunting for one of the americans if HBO will support it.
Furthermore will Calzaghes belts probably be vacated. There will be plenty of chunks in the ocean at 168.

Let Bute have his time. Just becoming a champ is a wonderfull timespan. Kessler had Mundine, Lucas, Beyer & andrade before stepping up to elitelevel.

Take on respectable level, but give yourself time, you will get there eventually.

There are many clues that points toward different opponents.

1- The rankings thing. Which would only matter if it meant it would be someone who's not ranked in the top15 yet. That would be Bozic who will be ranked in the top15 after his next fight. He's fighting for some minor IBF title that will pretty much automaticly get him a place in the top15.

2- Second clue is the date at which they said they would announce the opponent. Which indicates they need to wait for the guy to fight and win his next fight. This could mean Sanavia -vs- Haussler.

3- It could also mean Andrade who, according to Pantera2000, is negociating with Interbox for a shot at Bute and has a fight scheduled for december 8th.

    In other words:

    1- Bozic
    2- Sanavia-Haussler winner
    3- Andrade

I want him to fight Andrade. That fight would add soooo much perspective and tension to a future Kessler match-up.

This fight would, as was the case with Kessler make Bute look very good. He is, after some spoiling match-ups, in need of a goodlooking fight.

Still a hard fight though, I wouldn`t be to negative towards an easier first one for Bute.

    Hello! Welcome to ESB!:D

I think Andrade is on the cards but not in the first fight, on February 29th...I have a hunch it's going to be the fight after that - in summer. :good

Sanavia is a former 168lbs WBC world champion and has a win over Markus Beyer. He is also the current European Champion at 168lbs. All these things are marketable for a potentiel fight in Montreal.

    :D How about Boznic?:think

Come to think about it, the winner of Sanavia v. Hausssler would be a good first defence! :)

    Thank you Decebel.

Sound like a great plan. Good promoting is foremost about doing things in the right order for your fighter. Protect him, I think throwing Bute into the fights that makes me salivate, is for now a bridge to far.

I know its unbearable, just like waiting for christmas but it will be worth it!

Nobody should ever be sacrificed to impatient screaming fans who afterwards without a moment of hesitation will drop the very same fighter as an overrated bum!

:D I guess that would have to make me german! Sorry, most of the german fighters of that time fought to protected to judge by any reasonable standard. Is it possible to make statements like: "everybody ducked Sven Ottke" or "Haussler is genuine elite, but got robbed three times against semi euro-elite level boxers" (according to your link)

I guess even germans must have a hard time loving them.:rofl

For the fun of it you should start a "best german boxer of the 90`ties" thread!

I would germanly speaking rather want Bute to face Braehmer if facing a german is an unbendable criteria for you:rofl :rofl

Stéphane Larouche a ciblé 4 boxeurs potentiels.

    Let's resume:

Sanavia is the opponent InterBox wants for Bute in Febuary. Nothing is signed but that's the plan.

Stjepan Bozic is the back up plan in case Sanavia loses his next fight or if he get's injured.

Then there are talks for Bute to make his second title defense against Andrade in Mai or June on HBO.

    Thanks, Maxime!

The winner of Sanavia and Haussler would be better than Bozic, I feel. Bozic beat Mock but lost to Gogiya and was TKOed in the 2nd by Tsypko...:think...why wouldn't InterBox try the winner of Sanavia v. Haussler even if Haussler won?:huh

Andrade was never going to happen but in summer, so no surprises there...

    :good
