Maybe I missed it, but, I did not get a chance to see what your prediction is for that fight. If you feel like it, I'm curious to see how you see Pavlik vs Martinez also. Very nice to have you back dealing with us crazy fans.... Less than 12 hours before the beginning of the next chapter, man, time seems sooooo long. Later :hi:
Thanks for the heads-up, Fightfan of Mtl! I see the odds as follows: Bute T/KO 50% Bute UD 35% Miranda T/KO 10% Weird happening leading to either Miranda losing by DQ or to Bute losing by decision after multiple knockdowns 5%. I agree with the consensus view that Miranda is most dangerous early on, because Bute is not a particularly great or confident starter. Thus, if Miranda wins, it will probably be by stoppage in the first 3-4 rounds. After the first four rounds, Bute should come into his own and take over the fight. I think he will be careful but also aggressive, because he will want Miranda to respect him (thus decreasing the chance of Miranda going for huge risk-all shots repeatedly) but also because he will want to impress HBO and the rest of us with an eye-catching stoppage, after putting on display all his qualities. Also, Bute will try to get Miranda out of these pretty early on, because it's not safe to stay in too long with a puncher like him... you never know - he might get lucky. My prediction: Bute T/KO 6 For Pavlik vs Martinez, I see the odds: Pavlik TKO (late) 40% Pavlik UD (by 3-5 rounds) 30% Martinez UD (close) 15% Martinez by TKO (early) 10% Freak occurences/draw/SD 5% I think Martinez will start very well and win most of the first 6 rounds, but then, once Pavlik gets in the groove and Martinez starts to tire, Pavlik will have too much for him. If Martinez was bigger, stronger and less old, I think this fight would be very close. In any case, I am very excited by it because the first couple of rounds could be very difficult for Pavlik. My prediction: Pavlik T/KO 11
He did try them on and the original plan was to use the Reyes gloves. Goossen (and Miranda) found the Everlast to feel better and they ended up choosing them. Reyes used to be the glove a puncher normally used, but things have changed and the new Everlast gloves are even better.
The worst thing that could happen to Bute here in Quebec is that the canadiens-capitals game goes very far in overtime and that people watch it rather than the fight... But it is unlikely.
Alright, good stuff, I only have a slight difference, I give more chances to Martinez topull it off, I see about 33% the chances of a W for Martinez. Otherwise, it's ok for me. Less than 8 hours fot the bell..............
Martinez maybe has a better chance than both of us think, but Pavlik should still win it, I think. One thing's for sure - Martinez trained like a beast - he will give more than in any fight so far. :good
I hope so. One thing about Bute is that win or lose, you can guarantee he will put on a show, especially on HBO, with his dad at ringside for the first time in a long, long time. Even on his worst night so far, against Andrade I, he gave his all, made it very exciting and beat the count like only a real champion could. Miranda, also, comes to fight and gives his all to win. He is explosive and he takes risks and he goes for the KO! It should be a good fight! Bute would have to be very unlucky to lose; he is in great shape and his preparation was excellent. Good luck, Lucian!:happy (Drive carefully!)
Is it possible a place very very far from the action in Bell Center may be cheaper than pay-per-view?:think
