The Romanian Government have not even considered discussing giving away Euro 4m for the organisation of the gala yet. They are currently trying to justify state pension cuts of 25% and public sector pay cuts of 15%, so giving away 4m euros for a cause no matter how worthy is not on their priority list.

Without secure funding, negotiations cannot proceede.

It looks like HBO aren't that interested in a fight in Romania either, at least not against someone like Brinkley...

...so that's that.

 

Thanks. Money talks. When Interbox said we should know about Bute's next fight within two weeks following the fight, I didn't believe them. I'm glad I didn't. Anyway, we won't know anything about Bute before the Lucas-Andrade fight, next week. Interbox already has to cope with the hockey playoffs taking all the sporting spotlight in Montreal.

This would be a mega-event:nut, but the problem for Bute is his obligatory defence . It seems that Bute-Brinkley has not much appeals for HBO and they have less interests for produce it as a main event. But maybe on a sub-card of Dawson-Pascal...But, I hope that Bute-Pavlik is comming sooner.:happy

Anybody have a clue on what's going on ! If Bute stays away from the ring again for a long period, will it catch-up to him ? Because he took care of business quickly in the last three outings and he only fights every 6 months, since all the serious opponents are still busy, could this situation turn against him or does it give him time to improve before facing Kessler, Ward and company ? Fighting Brinkley is the same as if there was no fight, completely useless. How could he be in top shape if he can't fight anyone worth mentionning until S6 give us a bit of challenge?

After all, even BHop would be better than nothing, come on, give us something to keep us waiting for the real things.

I don't understand why Interbox doesn't get rid of Brinkley as soon as possible. Ok, the fight in Romania doesn't work. Just organize the fight in Montreal in August.

Maybe they have better plans for September and made a financial agreement with Brinkley to postpone his fight? I hope that's the case because Brinkley in September doesn't make sense.

Concerning Bute fighting only twice a year:
1) he stays in shape between fights
2) he is able to learn between fights, so he is still improving
3) it would still be better if he fought three times a year, because many of his fights won't last very long, unless it's against an elite opponent, which is not the case with Brinkley.

 

He actually answerd to this q . Why he doesn't fight 3 4 times / year . Ppl saying that he finishes his opponent fast. He said that not the fight itself is tiring but the 2-3 months camp of hard training . And he needs his vacation/break between fights because is not just hard physically but psychically to.

I'm afraid that nothing is working with Pavlik, Hopkins, Stieglitz we already know. So they make Brinkley-Bute later in order that the next one is against a super six loser. Green, Dirrell or Froch.
