This is exactly it. SHOWTIME will want to showcase a talented American against Bute before anyone else. You can take that to the bank.

Logic says that Bute's next fight should be against Dirrell unless team Dirrell decide to drop out of it.

The fighters will go where they can make the most money. It's as simple as that. Right now, American promoters know that they can make more by fighting in Quebec, when matching their fighters with Bute or Jean Pascal.

Gary Shaw promotes Dirrell and he has already proven that he's not against coming to Montreal if need be, as we saw with Chad Dawson.

At this point, the Bute team simply want to face the best available and SHOWTIME want the same for him since they pay him $2 million per fight. SHOWTIME will always favor American opponents over others, if they're available, since SHOWTIME is an American station afterall...

It's all about making the most financial sense for SHOWTIME, therefore Bute vs Dirrell in Montreal is the first choice the station would pick, if possible.

Why not? There is a 2 millions $ purse given by Showtime. Bute takes the largest part because he is the champion, he wins against Dirrell and shuts every critics up at the same time.

The Showtime contract makes the Bell Center good money not necessary.
