Speaking of mandatories, what do you guys think of a possible Bute-Stevenson face-off this summer? I think it could be a good stay busy fight and still a dangerous one. This guy could easily be the biggest puncher at 168. He even claims he KO'd Bute and floored Pascal in sparring. That could be used to sell the fight, maybe 25K in a Quebec City stadium like Interbox suggested.:think
I recall Bute saying something about people trashing him if he'd fight another "tomato can" like Adonis; the guy is not really on his short list. Actually Bute gave up sparring with him because of his "enthousiasm": Adonis was focused not on collaborating with the partner in a mutually useful training session, but on showing how strong and hard are his fists. I would bet Adonis did the same with Pascal. In Stevenson's wet dreams, maybe. I can foresee Bute having a match with him only if Adonis will be made his IBF mando just after Froch (in the case Bute wins in Nottingham), otherwise Bute has better prospective opposition to face in his few matches left at SMW.
Well, I think he's the number 2 challenger right now (the number 1 spot being vacant). It could very well happen soon. I wonder why he didn't try to fight Stieglitz, though? He'd beat him (or even Abraham if he moves well) and that would be a big unification.:think Plus, there aren't that many good fights left at 168 besides Froch and Ward. Andre Dirrell (if he comes back) or his brother? George Groves, maybe?
In November 1998, This content is protected He was sentenced to 18 months in prison. The victims were aged from 17 to 25 at the time Stevenson forced them into prostitution. This whole story came to public knowledge when boxer and opponent Jesus Ernesto Gonzales Jr. revealed these events during a press conference in Montreal prior to their February 18th, 2012 bout [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adonis_Stevenson[/ame] **** that worthless piece of ****. Hope he gets stabbed by a homeless person.
It's not enough. Froch is his mandatory challenger for 2012; assuming Bute would win, he'd have enough time left for one or two other fights with opponents of his choice (say Andre Dirrell), then an unification match with Ward would prevail on any mandatory for IBF. Should Bute win all these matches (otherwise Stevenson would no longer be his mando), there would be little left for him to prove at SMW so he could finally step up at LHW as planned. Some time ago, Interbox tried to start some negociations for a Bute-Stieglitz match, the latter declared he is not interested in such a match, end of story. I don't think that Bute had the young prospects Groves or Oosthuizen in mind when speaking about "cleaning out SMW division" and waiting for the S6 to end. If he won't get the right opposition, he will most probably change division.
Oops?! Since this is a Bute dedicated thread and since you wrote something like "that would be a big unification" about the match with Stieglitz, I assumed the personal pronoun "he" standed for Bute (after all, right now Adonis has no belt to unify with Stieglitz). Well, I don't know and I don't feel too much in Adonis mind-reading mood (moreover on this thread). :yep
This. Stevenson cannot be a useful sparring partner. When you're hired, your goal is not to look good but to help the other guy to prepare for his fight.
Yo won't see my ass , maybe if you pay! I'm in holliday so less CPU , i will be back soon enough for you to regret it :yep
