Good move by Bute, the only problem is that he has been out of the ring for so long & can he still make 168? He beat Bika before, so he should be available to do it again, then afterwards he can chase Ward or winner of Froch-Kessler 2. But i think a fight before the Bika fight would do Bute good, to stay warm. Why not let him face Stevenson in a Montreal derby, then face Bika afterwards, because then we get the stupid IBF mandatory out of the way.
You're implying that Froch's team went outside of the rules which I'm afraid renders an otherwise very readable post incapable of being taken seriously. And if Froch is so scared, and the odds were so against Lucian, why hasn't he invoked the rematch clause for March? There's a lot of other things you've said that I can take issue with, but I'll leave that with you now. Your claims about the Froch fight are laughable, which is a shame because you clearly put a bit of thought into that post, even if there are several inaccuracies.
And when does Bute ever fight in stadiums? Isn't the Bell Centre an arena? Bute was considered an untested fighter who stuck to safe defenses. He wanted to cement a legacy and more than that,he owed it to his loyal fans who had to constantly defend his choice of opponents. He took a chance but made sure he had a home rematch to put things right.Stop trying to make out he's had his title unfairly stolen. He suffered a brutal defeat the first time he fought a live opponent and he could've had Froch over there in March, but like most of us,he knows it's time to move on and accept that being #4 in the world is still a big achievement. It's when guys like you post stuff like that that the arguments continue.
No, I don`t want to say his title was stolen. What I`m trying to say is Interbox took a decision that now sure they regret it. Now, they probably think would have been much bettr to try fights with Pascal or Dawson but stay on American continent. In fact what can you say: congratulations to Froch team for such good negotiations.I fact, you can say: stay a minute, Froch was champion and went to fight Taylor and Direll was in Notingham and lost arguably.Indeed.But Taylor`s turf not compare in terms of pressure with Notingham and Direll was still a prospect at the time. The same with Ward. You can`t compare Direll status at the time of the fight with four and a half years of championship and undefeateveness of Bute previous to Froch fight. So, Froch take much glory but the difference between them is not the one seen in that night. It`s smaller.I still think Froch can be beaten in Canada but yes, they took a realistic decision( they know better) postponing the rematch. And about stadium, yes the Canadians tried to get a fight in Manchester in order to have some Romanian crowd and avoid an inside pressure.Let`s remember Kessler fought in stadium in Britain, not inside. Not yet.
Sorry mate but I just can't go along with the vast majority of what you're saying. Ward was a prospect when Froch fought him in the S6 final? Taylor was proven against P4P'rs and HOF'rs.Because he doesn't have an intense crowd like Bute that dilutes Carl's victory? The difference between Bute and Froch is smaller than what we saw in the ring? I might allow you to elaborate on that one but some of your points add up to absolute Bobbins!:huh
Wait, I didn`t say Ward was a prospect when he met Froch.I`m not absurd.Yes, I didn`t said it correct.I shouldn`t mention Ward. The idea wasirell was a prospect at the beginning of Super Six and so was Ward. Taylor was good at the time Froch met him.I just did compare the difficulty of battling in England (and in Europe in general) indoor with competing in US and the fact that afights differ according to the moment of each of the sportmen involved. I compared Direll fight just to affirm that those who say: Direll arguably lost to Froch while Bute has anihilated so Bute was vastly overrated is not not necessary true but might be even mostly wrong. Yes, I maintain that was a total night of Froch, so difference between them can see at least after a rematch
Just re-watched the Grachev fight and the 12th round was a masterclass performance! Hope we see more of that Bute! First time I ever saw him fighting with anger.
Ibox want Bute next fight to be on the same night then Froch-Kessler 2 , maybe in England or Romania for the WBC interim title agains't the winner of the Sjekloca-Bika fight. http://www.rds.ca/boxe/chroniques/355268.html And i read somewhere else that Froch is targeting Bute or Ward for his next fight after the Kellser 2 clash
Were you guys informed of this ? :think http://www.*****.net/news/2013/01/29/lucian-bute-out-for-six-weeks-after-surgery.html
How can he fought with this injury for two fight, like the article says when the same article states that he got it in the Froch fight ? :think Not credible, needs to be double checked.
It's confirmed by Romanian news sites, anyway he has enough time. Bika - Sjekloca didn't even take place.
Yeah the website is a little bit suspicious tbh. :think Anyway, if it's true, I hope everything goes well for Lu-Cian BU-TE Lu-Ci-An. :good
http://www.*****.net/news/2013/01/29/lucian-bute-out-for-six-weeks-after-surgery.html Ya it is true. He'll be fine...
Bute had a small operation to heal the cut he suffer from the Froch fight and the same cut re open agains't Grachev
