Any early prices for the betting over there guys. I'm still stuck on who wins but if Bute is well priced I'll put a couple of rupees on him.
Laffie...speaking of Heredia, he's having a Twitter war with Conte. I just don't know what Conte meant by saying "messing up drug tests". If I'm right, since a week or so, we got inform that the results will remain confidential. https://mobile.twitter.com/Guruscience/status/326824605056655360/photos
For the Bute fans who still believe, take note that if Bute manages to pull this off, he will have achieved something truly remarkable that only happens very rarely. Have a look at the replies to this thread I found, for example: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=473205 Wouldn't Bute be in the same position as the fighter in question? This is why usually, after a world class fighter gets knocked out like that in his first loss, he usually either detroys his opponent in his next tune-up or he has at least another tune-up after that before stepping up again. I would have given Bute another tune-up before Pascal, at 175lbs.
Wasn't May a great month for boxing last year too? I remember the joy of the Saturday being wiped out late Sunday night when we lost one of my all time boxing heroes. Still miss ya champ. And it's still sore.:-(
Aye. Twas good, although in hindsight the Froch/Bute fight was disappointing despite Froch's awesome performance because Bute was so uncompetitive. ...amazing how you can get attached to a complete stranger who doesn't know you from Adam, and so strange that grown men would continue to hero-worship someone just because he is a good fighter for so long. I guess you can take the man out of the tribe, but you can't take the tribe out of the man, as they say. :conf Kessler vs. Froch should go to the wire, even if Kessler gets stopped. I wish Bute can give Pascal a very hard fight, though. If he gets stopped early, as most people think, it would be disappointing for the Montreal fans.
I know a lot of you guys had a lot of faith invested in Bute, but I just have this feeling those extra pounds are going to help him.I'm still convinced the punch resistance problem is in his thin legs, and if he can make the best use of those pounds, it could be a big help. And this is why I have no interest in a Froch rematch.Bute needs to move on, and a win here should see him chase Dawson, not Froch. I might be making one of my worst predictions here, but I think Bute will have the fire back in his belly for this, and if he doesn't win, he'll take it to the championship rounds. If I'm wrong, and he just has a weak chin, then my thoughts on the matter are way off,but I will definitely bet on him if the odds are tempting enough.
I think Bute can beat Pascal, esp. if he's patient. Pascal runs out of gas and can be countered quite easily. In a rematch with Froch I will pick Bute if he beats Pascal. We will see................
I was just with Bute at a BBQ, Diaconu and JoJo Dan were there also... His cast is pretty big! I was talking to him for quite a while, and in all honesty, his mental strength is pretty crazy! He said that this injury just postponed things, but it didn't change anything at all. He said he will have more confidence in unleashing his left after all is said and done. His hand was bugging him a lot for a while now and even during training. "It had to be done". I'm not worried here, I'm just postponed.
Thanks for the update! :good Glad to hear he isn't crumbling mentally. :good What is Bute like, as a person, when he doesn't have his public-face on?
Very soon(few minutes or few hours) I heard there's gonna be a press conference show live by Romanian tv channel Sport.ro, don't know if it will be shown by any Canadian networks or is only for romanians.
