The confidence wasn't really there for Bute even though the crowd was with him, at home. He wasn't precise with his counters, just couldn't pull the trigger most of the time. He didn't let his hands go enough, but his foot work was good and at times he boxed well too. Some good bodyshots went in and the tactics weren't badly implemented at times. Did slightly better under pressure than in his last two fights too. There were some good moments but not enough. It was nice to see Bute make a fight of it in the 12th, but it was too late. Too hesitant on the whole. Bute's best days are behind him and they're never coming back. I think Bute should retire now. He would have won his last round, in good, entertaining fashion, showing some fighting spirit - a good note to retire on. Fans should remember him for that round, not for the previous 11, and Bute shouldn't ask them to pay to see him hesitate and fight in a risk-averse way again, in my view. The crowd were superb and extremely generous with Bute, before, during and after the fight. I think it would be graceful of Bute not to impose on their generosity excessively but instead just to thank them for great, great support throughout his career and retire, and give back to the people who have loved him so much by doing good charitable and community-building work in Quebec. Thank you, Bute fans for all the support! Thank you, Quebec, Canada, for all the love, generosity and belief!
:good Yep Thanks Champ. Wish you well. You should retire. Also should have give us fans a little more than you did in your last fight. A bit sad about the effort put in the ring, despite the good effort put in the training camp. But that's okey. Thanks for the exiting fights you shown us.
Maxime, you and sean were the first Bute fans I came across. Just wanted to give you a big :good and a big :happy to all the other great Bute fans on ESB.
Well, if Bute decides to retire (it's up to him, it depends on his mental state) do you think it's the end for Interbox? They had all their eggs in the same basket ever since the true boxing guys (Yvon Michel, Bernard Barré) left the place. Maybe their assets will be bought back by GYM...
I hope he retires I will remember the fights when he was in his prime and not this one tonight. No point in continuing if he can't commit during fights.
