On peut presque considérer Andrade comme un montréalais d'adoption, puisqu'il s'entraîne depuis plusieurs semaines déjà aux gymnase des frère Grant, dans la métropole.

Andrade est un homme simple, un homme vrai, amateur de poésie avec de grandes valeurs familliales. Le boxeur de 30 ans n'a qu'une défaite chez les professionnels. Elle s'est produite lors de son seul combat de championnat du monde. En mars 2007, Mikkel Kessler l'emportait par décision unanime.

“J’ai appris énormément durant ce combat. Premièrement, je ne m’attendais pas à recevoir autant d’attention avant le combat. Ensuite, j’ai été impressionné par l’ampleur de la foule, ce fut comme un choc pour moi. Troisièmement, Kessler était si motivé et rapide que je ne pouvais l’atteindre”, raconte Andrade avec humilité.

Vendredi, Andrade sera à nouveau en territoire hostile, en présence d'une foule imposante. Mais cette fois, il ne sera pas en terrain inconnu.


“J’ai déjà vécu tout ça. En plus, j’étais trop préparé contre Kessler. Je me suis entraîné trop fort. Maintenant, je suis plus détendu”, ajoute Andrade.

La défaite contre Kessler a été difficile a digérer. Pour relancer sa carrière, il s'est tournée vers le montréalais Howard Grant. Les deux hommes se connaissent depuis qu'Andrade a mis un terme à la carrière de son frère Otis, en avril 2006.

“Je sens que je fais partie de leur famille et je les aime beaucoup. Je veux apprendre d’eux et je me suis dit pourquoi ne pas apprendre de quelqu’un qui a tenté de me battre. Ils connaissent mes lacunes et ils sont capables de les corriger”, note Andrade.

Andrade n'est pas du type à se faire des ennemis. Même qu'il a une assez bonne relation avec son prochain adversaire, Lucian Bute.

“Lucian est un très bon gars. J’ai passé deux belles journées avec lui et il n’y a aucune animosité entre nous. Mais nous savons que nous allons donner notre meilleur une fois dans le ring”, précise-t-il.

Le 24 octobre, Andrade ne sera pas en terrain inconnu. C’est en compagnie de sa nouvelle famille montréalaise qu’il tentera de devenir champion du monde.

Andrade chased Kessler for 12 rounds and we/the fans were worried through the hole fight. That's what I meant,it won't happen soon.Bute will move to LHW by the time Jacobs becomes somebody,plus atthat time it will depend what Jacobs brings to the table.Personally I NEVER can see this fight happening but you never know
