Looks like Bute will be back from Romania on Wednesday. They will start discussing about what they want to do next. God I hope they go for the Taylor or Andrade fight!
Me too. But how could they avoid Larsen? They would have to pay Sauerland or to promise him something else. Maybe with Tsypko. Sauerland sure doesn't want Tsypko against Andrade in an eliminator. Maybe he would like his guy to take Bute on an optional? Usually, those kinds of theories don't work. :nut
We'll have to wait and see. Since Bute probably won't be back in the ring until March 2009. I guess we won't know what will happen for quite some times.
I hope the Larsen - Bute fight happens. If Larsen is at his best, it could be very close. Larsen fights next on the under card to Valuev-Holyfield.
There was an interview with Bute in the Romanian press recently. It was intended as an expose for those who didn't know anything about Bute or boxing... This content is protected "In boxing, if you hate your opponent, you lose!" - Bute This content is protected The things that we didn't know so far that might be of any interest to anyone here are the following: The interviewer remarked how polite and gracious Bute was before and during the interview. Bute quotes: "I am just a simple boy from a small village..." About his preparation for the Berrio fight [Bute was carrying an injury, apparently]: "With three left to the Berrio fight, I started to panic. My body wasn't responding the way I wanted and my combinations weren't coming out right. I was waking up other hour during the night; I was worried. I told Stephane and he called in Robert S*****e, the Interbox phsychologist. We started to talk and all my worries started to unravel and to lessen. He would tell me: 'Instead of brawling with him, imagine how the perfect fight would go, from the moment you enter your changing room until the final bell." I was imagining how I would be warming up, how I'd put the gloves on, how I warmed up with Stephane, how I'd walk towards the ring, how I'd hear the crowd shout my name whilst "Where the streets have no name" was playing, how the fight would start and how I'd be implementing the perfect gameplan just as we've agreed with Stephane. Then, on the night, I felt like I had boxed with Berrio ten times already, and I was taking part in a mere repeat. I was very calm in the changing room - everyone around me was tense but I was completely calm." About his attitude towards Andrade after the attempt to switch gloves at the last moment: "When you're in the ring, you have to beat your opponent but also to respect him. I am asked often whether it would be easier to beat an opponent if you hated him and I always say: No, on the contrary! Boxing teaches you not to hate. You fight face to face, eye to eye and the best man has to win." About the last round: "In the middle of the last round, I heard the fans shouting my name. I was very tired and I was getting hit a bit but I lost my cool and said to myself: 'So you want to fight, then let me show you I'm not backing down!' I could have moved to avoid fighting toe to toe but I wanted to finish the fight in a proud, fearless fashion, and it almost cost me the fight. It wasn't so much the shots that put me down - I was just completely exhausted and I became spent physically. I almost lost for the same reason I was losing the decisive fights during my amateur career - I wanted to win too much. Instead of relaxing and staying cool, I was becoming too tense because I wanted to win so badly, and my legs just stopped listening to me and I started losing my balance. He hit me a couple of times and I went down. I didn't know how many seconds were left on the clock. I just knew I had to get up. I could hear my fans imploring me to get up so I did. Champions always get up again."
Thanks Decebal,I know the guy that did the interview,he is probably the biggest Bute fan journalist in Romania, always writes about Lucian.
LUCIAN BUTE BATTLESHIP HIT! ALARM ALARM!!! , WE Are TAKING ON TO MUCH WATER, WE ARE GOING DOWN "Bell rings" PHEW that was close, the Battleship is fine ( for now )
This article doesn't make much sense to me but here it is anyway. I suspect the guy who wrote it knows nothing about boxing. - First he says Bute's next fight will be at the beginning of March. (Makes sense so far) - Then he says Andrade will most likely be Bute's next opponent because got a title eliminator..... (Good luck healing that nasty cut + fighting a title eliminator + getting for a fight against Bute all that inside 4 months ) Then he says Bute could try to unify his title with the WBC and WBA title which are held by Mikkel Kessler. (oups.... lol) Other then that Bute said again that he welcomes a rematch with Andrade and that he would like to unify the titles. «Je veux me battre contre Andrade encore.
