From ESPN. Nothing official yet. "Bute said he'd give Andrade a rematch. However, he may end up defending against German-based Dane Mads Larsen (50-2), as long as Larsen wins his fight against Roberto Cocco on Dec. 20."
Yes, but there is no news on anything. As a fan I like it, even if it's frustrating. Last time, Lucian was on a promo tour with Andrade AND being filmed by a documentary team. I bet Bute is training like a beast.
Let's hope he is. In truth, I think Bute took his eye off the ball a bit with Andrade. He bought himself this nice house, he has this steady/long-term girlfriend, he went on promo tours and he mixed with the stars a lot...Dorin, who has always been a critic, was saying in the Romanian press that it would take a toll on him...not sure whether it did, but he might have a point. Hope we see the old Bute again. I didn't much like the type that went on about his promoter when asked whether he'd give Andrade a rematch, or the one who got very defensive when asked questions about his performance.
You call it dodging but i see it as a " smart move " on Green's part because at the time when he was offered a shot, he was going to managment/health issues. Plus Bute's team offered him chumpchange. A typical low blow move by a title holder when he doesn't want to fight. Green's been singing songs about wanting to fight Bute for the past couple months now so i don't know why ya are keep saying otherwise. Bute doesn't want none.
I don't know what Green was offered this time; last time he said NO to what would have been his biggest ever payday, but anyway...Green's not beaten ANY Top 15 fighters, so he's not really a contender, so he should be very glad to get a title shot. Of course, since he's 90% sure to get KTFO, he sees this fight as a worse risk/reward than fighting all those bums once a year on FNF. It's his career!:conf
He is a hell of a commentator though. Why not do the thing he's really good at, if he's half-hearted about boxing?
It's not because he's half hearted. He's been calling out just about everyone at 168 but they all view him as a high risk/low reward opponent so they are running from him. He was supposed to face Taylor but that fight fell through, and now he's fighting TBA on the undercard of taylor/froch. Trust me, Green would take him out and Andrell Dirrell would make Bute look so silly.
