How likely is this to happen? I've sparred a bit, and the old thing seems pretty durable, but I'm not too keen on going through life with a wonky nose. My club's doing a set of exhibition matches at the beginning of December, and I'd like to just go toe-to-toe with someone for 3 rounds and put on an entertaining fight. Too many of the fights last time were boring, tickling contests, with no really action, and quite a few of my friends are coming, so I want to give them -- and everyone -- something to watch. Buuuut, I'm not keen on getting my bonce battered. Thoughts?
How likely is it that you'll break your leg tomorrow? Impossible to say. If you're scared for your looks you've picked the wrong sport.
Careful crossing the street, maybe something will happen.FFS Just go in and dont be ****ing worried about getting something broken. Its a contact sport, aynthing can happen. Unlikely though.Just dont be worried cause **** happens when you are.
lol, I have to agree. A big nose vs a small nose makes a big difference. I have one of them small Filipino noses. Harder to break, but I imagine a larger nose also gets more oxygen flowing. So there's advantages to both. BTW - i've gone hundreds of rounds of hard sparring (we don't like to hold back) and neither me, my sparring partners, or others in my gym (white dudes with bigger noses) have ever broken a nose in a couple of years and several hundreds of rounds. Lots of bloody ones, but never a serious injury in that time. Never seen one either in about half a dozen competitions that i've been in. There's a definite possibility of it happening, and i'm sure it does. But probably not as likely as you'd think. This is really hard to judge. It might be really infrequent as in my experience, but then again you could go years without breaking a nose, or it could happen tomorrow.
