    Interesting theory. Possibly true.
    He certainly didn't want to win the fight enough. Nowhere near enough.

    I dont even know if Ali's blindness was caused by Liston's gloves. I still haven't seen where Liston's cornerman says that, only second-hand accounts of him saying it. It could have been accidental.

    Yes indeed. A fellow conventional tough guy,like Cleveland Williams,was a straight forward question for Liston to answer,but Cassius Clay (as was) was such an enigma,that Liston was totally flabbergasted.

    liston only trained for a short fight - no more than 4 rounds. he didn't believe it would last any longer. once he failed in the 5th and was getting beat up in the 6th he quit before clay could ko him in the 8th as he predicted - that would've been the ulitimate embarrassment. man what a chump!
