I like both fighters, and of course I am one of many fans who would want a third match. But you are too quick to say that Marquez is ducking Pacquiao. If you use that kind of reasoning, that JMM has been ducking and avoiding Pacquiao's challenge and you are even giving out updates of the days, hours and minutes the JMM camp has not responded, then the camp of Marquez can also reason that Pacquiao also did not want the rematch, and they even personally went to Pacquiao to beg for a rematch but there was no clear answer given by the Pacquiao camp.
Well, if JMM has learned his lesson, he should accept this fight without thinking of anything. Not ever the purse sharing. This is his last chance to prove that he is better than Pac. So, why is he silent for two weeks already. Is he afraid? Is he ducking Pac? Is he ill advised again to fight Zab Judah for a pittance like Chris John? My point is, NOW IS THE TIME. He should waste no time because Pac's career does not revolve around him. On record, he has beaten him already and apparently history will judge him as the winner. He has plenty of options after Hatton. There's Cotto, Mosely or even Floyd. Whereas Marquez, he has no one except Pac and Floyd is a pipe dream.
Why do you feel that fighters should follow your schedule and your wishes? "I want Marquez's answer. And I want it NOW!!! Or else, he is ducking Manny." Some of Pac's fans have been telling JMM's camp to "move on" and "just make a name for himself without having to mention Pac all the time, he's such a whiny *****." and other words similar to that. Now, the man is working hard to make a name for himself without mentioning the 2 Pac close decisions all the time, he has been going up divisions and fighting good opposition, and he's moved on and he widened his list of possible opponents and not just zeroing in on Pac. Manny is still on the list, but if it's going to give him another 30-70 purse split and if he's going to wait a long time again for the fight to "bake", then he has got PLAN B, PLAN C, D, E, etc. and he can keep on building his legacy without wasting time doing nothing.
Soriano, I noticed that you are a very active supporter of Manny. And that is good. But oftentimes you cross the line from being a supporter of a fighter, to becoming somewhat of a destructive, disruptive and a negative poster. That way of supporting a fighter only makes your favorite fighter look bad. That's why some people here think you are purposely trying to be a troll. Maybe your opinions are honest and you really mean all of what you say, but the way you say it make it sound bad, and makes Manny's fans as a whole, look ridiculous, even if they are actually honest boxing fans. I will be back later.
It's not actually this writer who wants Marquez to answer Pac's challenge. Boxings fans around the world. Pac has spoken that he has accepted his challenge to fight if he's looking for a worthy opponent. I assumed that Pac will fight him after Hatton. Now, if he's taking his sweet time not responding to Pac, it's his own lookout. He'll miss the chance. I'm afraid this is a repeat of what happened after their first fight when Pac asked for a rematch. Marquez dillydallied on the purse until Pac booked for a fight w/ Morales. Poor Marquez, he had to go Jakarta to fight Chris John for $30,000 and eventually lost. I have a feeling that JMM's career is being managed poorly by Nacho. Nacho, not astute businessman as he is, may have been on the verge of losing an opportunity for his boy. He should know that his boy's passport to fame and fortune is thru a fight w/ Pac. A victory over Pac is greater than a victory on anyone. Forget about Floyd because he has no chance, not even Judah.
Don't you think that I have a point? Read this: -Pac called out Marquez for a rematch if he wants to have one. -No response from Marquez. Nothing. Not even from GBP's Schaefer who've been telling the press that Manny is running away from him. -Pac issued another challenge to fight him as this is his last chance. -Again, no response from Marquez -What do you want Pac to do? Wait for him forever? -Pac's career does not revolve around Marquez because on record they had two fights and he believed he won these two fights although it is 1 WiN 1 DRAW -Pac has better options --- money and legacy wise. Cotto at welterweight, Mosely, or Floyd. -Pac is not getting any younger and he's contemplating on fighting two or three more fights. Just to settle w/ Marquez, he said he is interested in fighting him again. If Marquez does not signify his interest, Pac may have to fighter others who can give him better rewards and legacy. -Now is the time for them fight while they are in the top of their game. This is the reason why this fight should happen. Not when any one of them got destroyed by another fighter. The situation now is : Marquez has not responded to Pac's challenge. The big question: Will Marquez respond to the challenge?
What you said are your opinions and conjectures? Can you post a link to support your statement? If you can't, I'd rather wait until Marquez or any of his handlers read those statements of Pac in those two sources I mentioned. Meanwhile, I hope this rematch will happen while they are on top of their game. I hope one of them wins decisively so that no excuses can be heard from either side. I am not even talking as Pac supporter but a boxing fan.
According to UliUli he was proud to agree that they had the same score cards with one of the jugdes to substanciate that what he saw was actually the same as of one the judges. One the other hand, JMM's spokesman aka Divac said JMM never never never really lost and all the losses are due to the incompetent and corrupot judges at the same time if JMM fans like the scoring the judges are fine and not corrupt! DAMN! We've got AN OBVIOUS DOUBLE STANDARDS here!:smoke
I am back. Please read this, Soriano. http://philboxing.com/news/story-22565.html So, Soriano, are we ready to finally close this thread now? Juan Manuel Marquez's long and deafening silence has been broken since one week ago, apparently.
Well, guess this thread is over, JMM wants the fight. To think I was beginning to think he was ducking Pac.
If indeed what he said is true in this interview with a Filipino reporter, then he flip flopped from what he said at the post-fight interview that he wanted to fight "the best P4P in the world" which is Floyd. He must be feeling dizzy then. Now, he wants to fight Pac after Hatton. Okay, I can accept that. I hope Schaefer and GBP will now focus on Pac and not on a pipe dream of a boring Floyd fight.
