Revision and a rose tinted glasses look of the past, tilt peoples views, 80s Heavyweights were rightly panned at the time.

You had Holmes and Tyson that were quality, and arguably top 12 all time. You had a clear third place in 'Terrible' Tim, who was the poster child for the so called 'Lost Generation'. The Jinx followed, and then you had the rest of the 'Lost Generation' and those who made up for limited talent by actually training (Weaver/Bruno).

The Hall of Fame is a 'matter of opinion' rather than 'matter of fact', so although I agree, like you, Tyson rightly is in, it does not mean Hart's judgement is wrong or invalid.

Why are writers getting a vote again ?

Do Trainers and Fighters get one ?
    I'm not sure. Just asking.

Overall, I would rather leave the vote for the HOF to be up to Pro Fighters and Trainers. I know they are far from perfect with their opinions given the many head-scratching answers and egos over the years...but writers???
I would rather those that studied the sport and were inside the ring have a vote.

And if you want to include one complete vote based on the Fans...that too.

especially given the characters that are in the HOF.

Tyson more than deserves to be in the hall of fame. Even to this day, when you think of the word boxing, guaranteed Tysons name comes up.

'Tyson in his prime' is probably the most talked about topic ever

But we cant really start letting anybody in just because Barry Mcguigan got in

Good point. The HOF is purely ceremonial anyway.
