    Are you high?

Who did Joe Louis fight in his comeback who was rated higher than him? Ezzard Charles? That's it.

Evander Holyfield was rated above George Foreman when they fought. Holyfield was the world champion. Michael Moorer was rated above George Foreman when they fought. Moorer was the world champion. Adilson Rodriques was rated above Foreman the FIRST THREE YEARS of Foreman's comeback. Tommy Morrison was rated below Foreman in the 1992 ratings and above Foreman in the 1993 ratings. Shannon Briggs was rated one spot below Foreman in the ring ratings the year they fought. Dwight Qawi and Bert Cooper were rated in the top 4 at cruiserweight (Qawi #3 and Cooper #4) the year Foreman's comeback began.

If Foreman's comeback was a circus, Louis' was a train wreck.

Foreman actually became the world champ again.

And lost 40 times. Lee Savold showed up in the ratings at the end of his career when there was a vacuum in the division. He won British recognition as the champ when "never was" Woodcock retired with an injury. Savold was a journeyman.

Savold was the 1949 version of Charles Martin or Manuel Charr.

You're insulting George Foreman's comeback opponents and trying to prop up Lee "freaking" Savold, for God's sake?

Lee Savold doesn't beat Dwight Qawi or Bert Cooper.

Hell, who would you pick in a fight between the Gerry Cooney who Foreman fought and the Lee Savold who Joe Louis faced?

And Savold was the best guy Joe beat in his comeback. That doesn't say much.

he beat George. Just like Charles beat Louis.

    he beat George too.

yes I know this, and all Foreman did to earn that title fight with Moorer was lose to Tommy Morrison who was knocked out in one round in his very next fight by an unknown novice. Morrison beat a 43 year old then got knocked out by a nobody. In one round...

yes and he was not listed at all when Foreman fought him. Aldison had been exposed by Holyfield. So he did not appear on a list with George did he? Neither above nor below George.

And Tommy handed Foreman a points loss. As I said George did not beat anybody above or below himself in a top ten annual list. Most extraordinary for a linear champion isn’t it?
and when we look at George’s record Briggs beat George too didn’t he? Like I said George never BEAT anybody listed with him in the ratings did he?

so before he even fought them they were listed in two seperate weight classes?

You said he never fought anyone listed above or below!!!!! It was exposed as a lie days ago yet still you persist.

He beat Moorer!!!! No amount of weird denial from you is going to change that.

    Wow, just wow!

Charles Martin was the guy that enabled the highest regarded fighter today to become champion. Even before beating Wladmir, on the strength of that win over Martin, Joshua was regarded as the best current fighter. Martin was a weak accidental champion. Somewhat like Moorer was. Nobody regarded George as the best current fighter for beating Moorer however. And neither was Joe Louis when he beat Savold. Not whilst Charles and Walcott were out there. However, at least Louis had beat Walcott. The only difference between Savold and Moorer was that Moorer had a linear claim. Holyfeild, Lewis and Bowe were still above him. Neither Savold nor Moorer was regarded as the best heavyweight in the world at any point.

Savold was not great. And neither were comeback Joe Louis or Bald Foreman. They were just capable contenders that time around. Joe was more relevant to his era because he could still beat contenders though. George won a title because the worlds third best heavyweight wore the crown. Cesar Brion was no harder to beat than Moorer was.

Qawi with a knee strap on? Smoking crack Cooper that had his purse withheld for non effort?

no I think Brion was better. Brion proved to be of the level of Layne, Charles and Walcott. Cesar got the better of Layne after he beat Walcott. Brion gave Charles a hard fight in 1952. I think those guys were better than Savold.

It’s a lie that Morrison took a one round hiding, a total shellacking from Michael Bentt in his very next fight after beating old boy George? It happened just like that. Bentt was unknown. Less than 12 fights. His record was 10-1 against 100% unranked guys. and 8 of the guys Bentt fought had losing records. Bentt had already been knocked out in one round by a guy who would lose more fights than he won..

I think I said beat rather than fought. If I said fought I would have meant beat. Especially since nobody ever boasts about a guy losing to somebody. When I am wrong I will admit it, I have in the past. But Bald Foreman never beat anybody listed with him in the annual ratings. It’s true and it stands up,

I didn’t mean to suggest that Kirk Johnson had done anything similar; I merely wrote that I wouldn’t really be surprised if he’d been able to do so.

Foreman wasn't just a capable contender he was the World Champ. One isn't just a capable contender when he wins the damn lineal title by KO!

Wrong yet again. The Ring had him top of the tree in 1995.

Foreman can be found in the Ring ratings across a period of about 5 years in his comeback.

That in itself is an incredible achievement. Insane even.
