So ahead of his fight with Carl Froch, which is Bute's first fight in a hostile environment, the excuses are already flying left, right and center.

First we have the excuse for the british market:
Apparently Bute's leg is badly infected. This is reminiscent of the David Haye 'Toe-Excuse'.

The brits are well aware of the terrible effects a bad toe had to David Haye's perfomance against Wlad Klitschko. But in order to be on the safe side, the Bute-PR dept. wouldn't settle for just a toe so they took the whole leg.

The brits will understand that one.

Secondly we have a bad cold for the canadian homemarket:
So now Bute has travelled from sunny Florida to misty England and has caught a nasty snotty nose in the process. Interbox is afraid to treat it with anything but Earl-Grey tea.

This is clearly an excuse made for the homemarket. Remember Bute's first fight with Librado Andrade? Well Bute was knocked from pillar to post stumbling around like a baby giraffe going for it's first walk. Bute's homer ref. shamelessly gave Bute plenty of time and in the process played russian roulette with the boxers health by allowing Bute to go the distance.

Afterwards Bute said he was weakened by disease badly minimizing his stamina.

Now the canadians are prepared again. Bute has a nasty cold that has the same effect.

    Thoughts?

It's clear that team Bute is getting cold feet, so they must prepare their excuses right now, before Froch shatters his fragile mandible

If these were truly inflicted on Bute, this would only even out the odds as Bute is far superior as it now stands.

Possible. It's hard to find a reason for him to disclose all these ailments before the fight. He could be very very scared.

Much ado about nothing. Interbox pointed out that this time Bute won't get in the ring if not physically fit. Right now, the schedule is still on. Consequently, there will be no condition-related excuse if Bute will lose this 26th May.
Feel free to speculate, though, it's always funny to read your wannabe screenplays.

If he wont be in the ring without being at 100%, then why leak all this info??

    Puzzling.

So you feel it generates interest saying that Bute is ill?
