Machida won that fight 3-2. First three rounds were close but clear. Shogun came in excellent shape and fought his heart out. But please, We can watch this together in Youtube slowmo, he ate alot of knees especially the 1st two rounds, and Machida was countering him well. For every leg kick he missed or even grazed Machida early on he ate a straight shot. I suppose we dont count those. I mean the first round alone Shogun took 3 hard knees to the midsection in the 1st 10 seconds. , that was the round right there. 2nd round, I can count the time Rua went in for the kicks and got countered every single time. The third was the closest til that exchange at the end that Lyoto definitely won. The problem I had with Machida is that he was gassed after three. The leg kicks affected him but clearly he needs to improve that cardio.
****ing exactly man, at least you're not a goddamn idiot **** like the rest of these forums are filled with screaming robbery at any chance they get.
Exposed? Come on. Machida lost, but then again, so has almost every fighter ever in MMA. So every fighter in the UFC has been exposed to be a fraud? Maybe the OP is tougher than any MMA fighter with a loss.
Joe rogan was hyping machida far more before the fight. Caling him a video game character and a comic book karate blah blah. he was calling it like he saw it. Machida had ribs and legs tattered . cuts all over his face CMON:verysad
Don't get me wrong , i think machida is a great fighter (he's consistent & always has a great gameplan)...However , he always had the same ****ing gameplan since day one. (and yet , all his opponents fell for it). I predicted in this thread , that Shogun would be different. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166813 Maybe i wasn't 100% correct , but shogun was indeed...different from all of machida's previous opponents. This one had a smart gameplan. Like i said Machida is great and he deserved his belt (at the time)...But he should've lost tonight. I never went gaga for the guy & never fell for the ridiculous hype behind his entire career for 3 reasons. 1 - His fight vs Greco 2 - Vs Penn 3 - "the gameplan" (a gameplan which is solid & smart , no doubt , but he's been using it for years) ...I personally was more amazed by the fact that it took +6 years for someone to take advantage of the holes in his gameplan. Watch all his fights...He's been doing the same **** for years. It was only a question of time before someone tried something different. Shogun was aggressive but also very patient...He did a great job. Just a shame that he got robbed.
Im not denying that, but every judges gave it the same score. I knew Shogun needed to take the belt because, thsi thing is scored by rounds and the 1st three was Machidas, and I was right. Again we can count everything landed on slowmo together. Shogun fought the perfect fight, I think Lyoto wasnt ready for that and it was a stiff challenge.
Well they count aggression and octagon control too and Shogun certainly had those. Honestly can't see any way people are giving Lyoto that many rounds. I scored it 5-0, closest round was the 2nd.
Rogan LOVES Shogun. A hard punch beats a fukin leg kick anyday yet Rogan wouldn't even mention Machida's shots to Shoguns face. I remember one instant where machida landed probably 3 clean shots to Shoguns 1 and rogan said fuk all about Machida's and commented on Shogun. This is a fight I'd have to watch with the volume down. Everytime I thought I saw something good from Machida fukin Rogan would say "wow what a kick from Shogun" I was like WTF. Rogan kept commenting on Machida's reddened stomach but fuk, look at Shoguns! It was just as red for fuk sakes.
Well ,i'm in the minority here but i think the hype behind Lesnar is also insane and i'm surprised nobody has been able to dominate him so far. Couture almost did it. but got tkoed ...(Lesnar was clearly gassed in that fight , not to mention Randy...who's smaller & older...was at times , outpowering the big guy during the clinch). Lesnar is a solid wrestler...he's huge and very athletic but he's also quite one dimensional i wouldn't give this guy a chance in hell vs a well rounded hw (such as Josh "the roid" Barnett or Prime Nogueira or prime Couture for example)... I wouldn't say that he's a fraud. (even though he had a direct shot at the belt , right after defeating Heath Herring , which is absurd...but then again so did couture...When couture decided to make a "come back" he had an instant opportunity to fight Sylvia)
Machida was struggling to move by the end, those leg kicks were doing way more damage than his punches.
Ok i was fine with what your sayin until that comment:huh Shogun clearly won the fight and everybody who saw it other than the 3 blind mice thought shogun won that fight so how is that not a robbery?
Why the **** is everyone talking aggression, SHogun had it but he got popped over and over again and got kneed. Fisrt 10 seconds three solid knee by Lyoto and youre talking about aggression and legkicks?? He did more damage there than anything that happened in that 1st round. You guys cant be counting the times Shogun pinned Lyoto against the cage and kneed him in the thighs?? Lyoto landed the cleaner shots the first three rounds and as for round three, there was an big exchange and MAchida dominated that exchange. Again, Youtube, slowmo breakdown
