The Machine VS The Russian....who ya got

It's going to be a brutal fight and someone's going to get hurt.

Provo has a great chin but he is so easy to hit and Matthyse hit's so hard. It's one thing to walk through the best of Bradley but Matthyse is another thing.

Matthyse should be able to gradually break Provo down and get the stoppage but you can't rule Provo out, he hits hard himself and if he can hang in there long enough and fire back he could always turn things around against the more proficient Matthyse. So while Matthyse is the favourite in my eyes, Provo has a serious punchers chance.

If the fights close and as entertaining as I hope we could see a series of fights like with Ward and Gatti.

 

It'll come down to who's the tougher one. Literally last man standing.
Lucas has showed more vulnerability before, while I don't see Ruslan going down.
Russian by brutal late round stoppage.

 

Unless Ruslan has the best chin in boxing or the toughest skin, I am chosing Mathysse as the winner.

 

I can't believe it's this weekend. I'll have to see what these guys look like face to face.

I've been watching their fights and I've notice a few things. Provo is most deadly and at the same time, the most vulnerable when the other guy is punching. He usually throws in between the other guy's punching and catches the other guy. He has also been caught in those combinations.

Matthysse is the most deadly when he's moving forward, but vulnerable during combinations when the other guy fights back, where he has been knocked down before.

This creates any interesting problem. They're both very vulnerable to each other's styles. Provo has the better chin, but Matthysse is sharper. Provo only knows how to fight one way...going forward and he loves to brawl. Matthysse on the other guy could be forced to go backwards in this fight, forcing him to pull his punches and lessen the power of each power punch.

I don't think this fight goes more than 6 rounds. They both have enough power to knock each other out quickly and their styles are perfect for an all-out-action masterpiece.

 

Matthysse is a level or two above Provo. He will win in relatively easy fashion IMO. Just watch the difference between the two of them against Corley. I think Matthysee's speed gets overlooked here, he is much faster than Provo. He is also the better puncher and he has more wrinkles to his game.

Add it all up and I think Provo is in for a beating.

 

I see the betting lines and majority of boxing fans pick Matthysse. Well he's better technically and has deeper resume, shows better angles, punches very hard.

And I can see why the Mad Russian is not picked as a favorite. He lost to a bum in Algieri, and is very technically limited. However, he struggles against boxers quick on their feet fighting on the backfoot. Matthysse is going to stand in there, he'll show some boxing abilities, but he'll not fight on the backfoot, he'll get touched as he was touched by John Molina. Crazy Russian won't need to cut the ring off, he'll just need to put on his best weapons - punches, good chin and stamina. Matthyse was dropped many times, and I can't recall the Russian Retard being dropped. The Russian Nutter will get frustrated most of the time, but will say the final word imo.

I will put my money on the Manic Russian just because of the style match ups. ROARR

 

If Lucas' chin can hold up he will win he's the superior boxer. With that said i don't know how much he has left, Molina dropped him twice and Provo hits harder than him. I'm leaning towards Lucas but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Provo stopped him.

 

Ban betted on Matthysse

 

Lucas is a better boxer but I'm going with Provo. I think he's more durable and Lucas can be hit. He's got a good beard but I believe Provo has a better one and maybe a little more power. It's possible Lucas wins more rounds....dose more physical damage but ends up knocked out. All I know is I'm going to be watching and this is definitely going to be FOTY worthy.

Ruslan if Lucus tries to fight him.

Favoring Matthysse to win this... but Provo definitely has a shot. It'll be a savage fight where the more determined guy (with the better chin) wins emphatically. Bombs away.
