I'll believe it when I see it!

David has been talking about fighting this actively for years, but has never done so.

He fought three months ago, and is fighting in about ten weeks. You'll feel pretty silly if he makes good on his itinerary of three matches by summer's end to escape his Maori TV contract. This thread will be here to assist you should you forget to feel silly.

    :readthre:

He had some litigious issues involving the people surrounding him, those have since been resolved. He's in a good place now, has his business and family affairs in order, being a gymrat, and his legs are terrifying.

And he's walking around at a good weight, eating right, and staying in the gym. He knows this is his last chance.

I think Tua would be about 70% certain to beat Rahman at this point. Rahman, though losing (in slightly dodgy fashion) and drawing with Tua, seems to do well against him, that's the only reason I'd stay clear of him.

Rahmans chin is a bit dodgier now, but his arms haven't got any shorter.

If you want a fighter of about that calibre. STick him in with Maskaev. Slower than Tua, and even easier to stretch out, while still a name.

Can't see Tua beating one of the K Bros without some luck, can see him beating Haye.

Could beat either of the bros (Vitali if he goes to the body early IMO, Wlad if he manages to land something, anything, worthwhile), but would be a long shot.

3 fights against journeymen to get rid of his Maori TV contract. Then he fights an eliminator toward the end of the year. A title early 2011. It would be great if the eliminator were either Peter, Arreola, or Ruiz.

He has until November 21, 2012 to get the title in order to make a success of *** The David "Tuaman" Tua champ-by-40 Express!!! ***...but yes, the sooner the better. :good

Read something the other day (though it was obviusly written after talking to Barry and Pugh) that seemed to hint Tua's wife was behind a lot of these issues. Not wanting those guys to take "their cut".

I don't really like either of those guys, but how else are managers etc supposed to get paid?

Yep, Robina was pretty upset with Peewww and Barry, and certainly weighed in. It threatened to wreck their marriage, but they held tight. They were partners, but not married when it happened in 2003.

Tua is only 37, and has a ways to go yet to outlive the thread.

What will be nice is see him in action again angainst a boxer who can stand upright and maybe fight back. By the time he fights Friday it will be basically six months since his Cameron bout. Hopefully he can get another fight soon after. There is always talk around Tua, and whats in the pipeline............but reality speaks for itself. Hopefully it's not another six months before he fights after the Friday match.
