What's the problem? Tua fights a tune-up against a Barrett look-a-like with his next fight being for a belt or an eliminator against a top ten guy. He needs to fulfill his contract, and fine tune his skills right after Barrett, which should end quickly.

Yes, McCall would be perfect, if he's not in jail or rehab. Minto? Nah, Minto has moved down to cruiser after what Arreola did to him.

I'm not giving up yet! Tua didn't look great, but against the right opponents he can still make some noise.

Yeah, I have no illusions that Tua would beat Wlad or Vitali, or even any top ten guy. But he could score some impressive KOs over some low level journeyman types, and I know I would be the only one interested in watching that.

Tua shot, he needs to retire as soon as hes fulfilled his 3 fight contract, one to go I think, fight someone terrible and get out of there.

Ive been a fan for years but this train has reached the final stop, his timing was terrible in this fight, he was sharper vs Ahunanya and Cameron but that could be due to sparring with them a lot before.

His motivation isnt there it seems and his timing and chin definitely arent, bigger names than he have been shot at age 38, Monte was brave as always but both guys are past it.

It was a fair bet, Tua did look sharper in his previous fight against a more durable opponent, but I think the fact hes sparred both Ahunanya and Cameron before had something to do with it.

You're not the only one brother by any means. It's a slow deterioration for these style of fighters. Look at what they did with Tyson from 1996 onwards, and I suppose the parallel of Tua from 2000 onwards. We the fans just cannot let the glory days go due to nostalgia of their exciting styles.

Almost time to get this Tua express rolling again. If only there was someone to pull the cart and point it in the right direction.

Damn. That draw with Monte Barrett really shut this thing down - for a year, before that bump.

Tua still has sixteen months to save me some face. He just has to beat...hmm, let's look at the HW title picture...

DAMN IT! He just has to beat one of the two guys I said all along he'd match up horribly against. :patsch

Yip. In summary of the last two years he's beat Cameron, Ahunanya, King, and drawn against Monte and about to have a rematch. He's turned down a fight with Wlad. But it's been two years of fighting journeymen again. Same old stuff, no surprises.

On the upside he was boxing really well against King. The jab was brilliant and he was busy, putting together good combinations. It wasn't a tough fight for him tactically as King pretty much stood in front of him. But I like what I saw, and I think he should stick with his current trainer he had for the King fight. I'm expecting him to be much improved for his fight next month against Monte.

Also on the upside is Kushner may be out of the picture due to hospitalisation and Sky New Zealand is promoting his latest fight. Maybe they can do what Kushner never could and get a fight with a top 10 contender.
