is it 40 minutes of him trying to big up the spanish cabby? "kevin mithchell didn't want to fight me for £18 so we got in a bloke nobody has heard off"
just finished listening. good show. no real biggy up of El Bum. murray and gallagher were spot on in there assesment of DeGale vs Groves.
George Chuvalo is a legend Theres a terrific docu on u tube about his career and the circumstances around the ali bout - 93 fights, one tough man and a good human being
Rob - have you seen El Ouazghari box? This guy has only lost once, to a guy he dropped earlier in the fight. He's got serious power in both hands. I'd make John the underdog in this fight. He better be on his A-game.
In all seriousness though, got to love his enthusiasm for the game. Keep up the good work lads - I download the podcast every week, always a good listen!
Really enjoyed the show. Like Rob I haven't seen any posters in London though. Watching Groves' interview on youtube here [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ETOLvzvJTI&feature=feedu[/ame] you get the similar feeling that his head is right for fight whereas DeGale and McDonnell are having to make themselves believe. As Joe says though if you look at it just on boxing you think DeGale wins.
Excellent show. Personally I think Chuvalo's piece should have been at the end of the show. Spirit's gig at the end seemed inappropriate after the heaviness of George's final segment. George Chuvalo is one incredible human being. Such toughness, both physical and mental, coupled with such sensitivity compassion and intelligence - one unique man.
