At 175 later this year it is really a 50-50 fight imo at this stage of their careers. If forced to make a pick i would say Mundine by close decision.
Why do you think it will be at 175 mate? CW IBO would be the way to go....the title is already there I guess the Mundine camp could **** Phil off again so it may go to 175
Since when did everyone think 20a87 was esteemed with his views? Oh that's right, self assessed - 'esteemed'! atsch
It would imo be a massive advantage to Green if the fight is above 175. I know that they might want to have the bull**** IBO cruiser title on the line so they might have Green defend his belt at another BS 180 catchweight but i just think that is too unfair to Anthony as he has been fighting at 160 recently. I think 175 is the way to go.
Forget the hatred, forget who they have fought. Forget the weight difference. Danny green isnt and never was or will be a boxer. He is a walk up brawler who will once again eat mundines jab and throw a heap of loaded punches that will again miss and take it out of him. Most people are predicting the outcome based on greens win over rjj and mundines inability to k.o present cabbies. Mundine and green will rise to the occasion and both perform well, but choc always has plan b and c and d,where as danny only has one.
I guess they will wait and see what the IBO come back with.......The IBO may or may not agree to have Mundine fight for the title. If its not for the IBO CW then it wil be LHW. Shame Phil is not around anymore....he could have told us :yep
This bout doesn't require the IBO Crusierweight title to boost it's appeal... :deal Both wouldn't give a toss about belts - it's $ that talk and mean everything. The general punters who Green and Mundine need to bring home the big PPV revenues wouldn't know the difference between the IBO and the government's GS ****ing T!
Prior to every Mundine fight, the same supporters keep predicting a Mundine stoppage, and every time they are proven wrong. Anyone who says Mundine is even a remote chance of stopping Green at this stage of their careers is simply DELUSIONAL. The guy has been fighting blownup welterweights and cabbies for how many years now, and the guy hasn't even come close to even HURTING someone, let alone stop them. When was the last time Choc even put someone on the canvas?? Clavero?? And don't get me started on that joke of a fight. Most laughable stoppage I have ever seen. Lets get real guys, this is a 50-50 fight. The only way Mundine wins is by boxing like he did in the first fight, landing the occasional jab and staying out of Green's power. If he tries to engage with Green he will be destroyed. If the rematch was made about 3 years ago (after Soliman 2) I would give Mundine a huge edge in this fight, however the guy has declined so much since then, the odds are almost even. His speed is nowhere where it was, his reflexes have diminished, and his power has been non-existent for a long time now. You can only fight so many E level fighters before it catches up with you, and if the fight gets made, Mundine will find that it will not be a walk in the park like the first fight. Likely outcome, . . . Mundine by UD or SD by scores of 115-113, 114-113, 114-114 or something similar.
Mundine won't stop green, ever, no matter how many times they fight. He might outpoint him the majority of the time, but i think green can stop mundine, if he lands well, it just comes down to how long can mundine avoid greens power, if the answer is 12 rounds, mundine wins, if less, green wins. My opinion.
Interesting thoughts Luds, but where were plans b, c and d against the cabbies, and how is he going to KO Green when he couldn't stop the cabbies??
:happy:happybout time someone that knows there boxin:happy:happyi was surprised with there last encounter...green kept steppin to him and i strongly believe were about to see the fall of that shitstain mundine:bart
Very Good rematch for both men money wise but it will even cause a ripple of interest outside of Australia ? Imo NO , These two should be fighting far above the level they have been fighting recently , On the World stage you blokes down under have a very good reputaion what with the recent efforts of Vic & Kat's coupled with the stalwarts of Australian boxing , but even the most die hard fans of Green & Mundine would have to admit they have let the sport down with their opponent options of recent years .
Like I said everyone has the right to say what they will but truly you guys need to watch Mundine a lot closer he is FINISHED! He does not have it anymore his speed, Movement, Jab it is all gone. He could not hurt a guy who fights at Jnr Middleweight. Plus the fight won't happen so I don't get what all the talk is about....Mundine will not agree to those terms and then make up some excuse and this time he does have a real reason (hip problem) Really fan or no fan of his go and re-watch the last 3 fights he has had and you can even see in Chocs face at the end of the Medley fight he looks like a finished man as if he knows his days are getting past him because he looked pissed off that he could not finish it.... He can beat all these C+ classed fighters but from B to A classed he will not win a fight. Sturm is his best choice and Maybe Williams but his work rate would give Choc a bad time.
