    Completely agree.

After all, there is a reason for weight classes. If not, let's abolish them.

The common line of thought is that bulking up past 200lb allows you to take the punishment better and ups your strength, and what with the availability of performance enhancing drugs nowadays it's all to easy.

I can think of a fair few fighters who it wouldn't benefit coming in much over 200lb.

The photo-editing has made Stallone look bigger than Cooney. :?

Ok. Very interesting and he's probably right. The thought that Toney would step up without bulking any muscle, just fat, has seemed strange to me despite his faty build, but I had no basis to argue otherwise.

There are some pretty strange discussions here and always will be I suppose. But Internet posters claiming to have insights that the whole profession is missing kind of takes the prize.

Or perhaps the cruel reality is that a number of fighters under 6' 2' and 190 lbs just don't realize that the richest prize in sport is there for the taking. If only they could stumble upon this forum...:D

Toney looked like he was very muscular against Holyfield at 217.

I've seen him fatter at lower body weights, which suggests serious muscle increase and anabolics use.

I mean, Holyfield might have used steroids, but Toney was loading up on them big time, I reckon.

From what I remember about it, Time said they were actually posing side-by-side in a studio for this shot, Stallone standing on a box, as I recall. (Andre the Giant was interviewed by Vince McMahon, Jr. for promos standing on a box to exaggerate his size, so this was hardly an unheard of ploy.) I believe Time actually discussed how they made this cover photograph within the pages of that issue, conceding that while Sly's fit the public's imagination of how a world heavyweight champion's physique should look, Cooney's did not. (It's been over 29 years though, so I'll defer to anybody who has this issue in their possession as to what was written about it.)

Frazier was a compact, 205 ball of fighting passion when he whipped Ali.
