This guy does raise an interesting point (though it wasn't his main point, just a tangent) about the IBO - they are kind of knocking on the door of legitimacy, as much as was the WBO about ~15-20 years ago.

Actually he makes pretty good points throughout.

I don't like Fury but he did beat the man at heavyweight and therefore is, whether or not we like it, "the man".

...and the IBF situation was ridiculous.

I love how people from Canada and northern USA say "yous" instead of "you" when they're talking to more than one person.

I agree that boxing is a corrupt sport, but it has nothing to do with racism. It's only about money.

If boxing were racist, there wouldn't be so many champions of minority races. Most champions are black and Mexican.

Although nowadays there are instances in which "the man who beat the man" gets a foul taste because of that same corruption not giving the most deserving boxers a shot at it, he clearly has a point.

Fury is the champ, and he should be treated as such. He was the actual mandatory challenger and made the most out of it.
No matter how he did it, no matter who he is, he deserved the shot and won.

I'm pretty much behind the IBO too.

Boxing isn't a clan cut honest business like this guy thinks it is. He sounds deluded to me.

did you miss what has happened since he won the championship?

The WBA started a tournament to determine who is the actual WBA heavyweight champ. And they have given Fury (who is the actual champ) the hardest part of the draw.

The IBF stripped him after a week for not being able to face their mandatory next and made a farce of their championship by letting someone fight (and win) for it that had only one borderline top100 opponent on his resume.

The WBO still hasn't given Fury the belt. Maybe he gets it post mortem (after losing the championship).

He is the champ, and he doesn't get the respect for it in his own country. Some act like paper champ Joshua is more of a champion as Fury himself.

I would say 99% of people recognise Tyson Fury as the number 1. Wladimir was unquestioned as the #1 so Fury beat him he is now. The problem with lineage in many divisions is the real number 1s vacate because they move up and the previous 2 and 3s don't fight.

The racism argument is kinda stupid, as most Americans don't even know wtf Travelers or Irish gypsies are.
