Nothing wrong with being a fan of a guy like Williams.

Not that he's going anywhere at his age but still nice to see him still taking tough assignments.

As for the Klitschko camp reference....

Take it with a grain of salt.

Tank wanted to take the head off his opponent but he wasn't being paid for that type of sparring.

At the Klitschko level they bring in specialists like Williams for specialized sparring.
Tank would be good for working the 1-2 and grab vs someone like Potvetkin or Chisora.
But not as a chief sparring partner.
For that, you'd rather have someone more like the actual guy your prepping for.

Tank didn't want to do what he was being paid for, so they cut him a check for the work he'd competed, then sent him home.

Muhammad Ali biggest down fall after his exile was letting sparring partners beat the **** out of him. just beat on him. he thought it made tougher and ready. People think the holmes and shavers fights did most of the damage but in fact the thousands of sparring rounds he did was just crazy. He would offer 5 grand if anyone could knock him down so everyone went hagler hearns on him.

 

CHEF has already commented on this a while back. The Tank did in no way or shape beat up Wlad in sparring (Or made his eat his own liver as I seem to recall Sherman claiming)

Quite the contrary, he was complete and utter ****e. He also had a bad attitude, complained a lot and demanded special treatment. He was kicked out because he was so out of shape that there was no point sparring with him and because he behaved like a *****.
