I'll take blame on the chin. I was one of the many that told Angie D to stick with the venue 'cos it generates atmosphere that very few venues around Oz hope to.
Melbourne's Pavilion was purposely designed/decorated for it, so it naturally commands same.

When sally puts a show on then he can talk, dicarlos matchmaking is usually fair and competitive fights, not cab driving slaughters. The venue is correctly sized for the amounts of people attending. There isn't alot of money to be made in promoting when you account for everything, hence the low purse's to fighters, leaving a pool of limited talent to choose from, its an uphill battle to put on great shows, there would be no use getting massive empty stadiums if the people would rather watch it on tv.

Ive never been to the mansfield tav, have enjoyed watching many a card on fox sports however. I have always wondered why someone hasn't given this a crack? http://www.visitsouthbank.com.au/attractions/piazza

Not sure if you could get liquor licensing for the venue however.

That has been considered by one particular Brisbane promoter..exposure to weather was i think one negative. Not sure what the cost or alcohol factors were
