Great comeback at the end, entertaining fight.

Surprised there isn't a thread for Randy...

Damn straight nobody would have been upset had he looked for a war out after growing that thing on his face but he didnt quit mentally or physically and nearly pulled out the W. That loss IMO is better then most fighters wins. Far greater then that "performence" from GSP tonight.

Brown hes ok but he had his 15 minutes. And Faber, please he cant strike for **** and people has kinda figured out his game. Theres a new breed of fighters coming in. As much as I dont love their style, the AA wrestlers who has very good standups are the style to beat.

yea but aldo took homonick down heaps and gnp'd him for ages plus jose aldo was unconditioned and as he mentioned put more weight on for the fight and homonick has great heart but crap defense compared to jose did you see how many jose landed on mark and how mark missed jose like 80 times.

Randy should have retired after the Vera fight, that is why he was gifted the decision, so he could retire.

I agree, but my point is this. Before everyone hail someone as some kind of MMA God. People need to wait. Aldo wasnt doing his usual Matrix style with Hominick and I'd be perfectly honest, Mark aint the greatest thing either, hes very inconsistent and just got into a little winning streak lately.

Theres a difference between guys like Aldo and Bones. When Bones fights great fighters (Shogun) he destroys them and can still do the same incredible things he can do against a journeyman. Me I always wait for them to face a tough competition and if they still pass with flying colors then theyre great. And some people are saying Aldo better than Anderson Silva:lol:

    :rofl

Did you miss Anderson vs Sonnen? Aldo was badly gassed and he still beat Homminck up and KD'd him twice.

Yes, but he also got beat up himself very badly in round 5. And saying he was badly gassed doesn't excuse that.
If he wants to remain a top P4P guy, he better not gas in the last round.

He was gassed from the 2nd onwards. When your not at your best but still win the fight convincingly against a tough challenger who gave ya hell in the last round and still walk away with the belt, that's the definition of a p4p fighter in my books

Sonnen would be higher than Hominick on my P4P list

I agree. I give Aldo total props for toughing out the win. But people often use this "he was gassed" excuse to give a guy a free pass.
If you gas, maybe you need to do something to prevent you from gassing next time.

I cant argue with that. Jose had the same amount of time as everyone else to train and cut weight andIm not tryna give him a free pass.

BUT I will add that imo the other 4 rounds would have looked like the 1st if Jose was in top shape. Just a bad day at the office

But anyway this is Hominicks thread, and fight fans will respect his guts, determination and heart for the rest of his career. True Warrior, came close and never gave up.

And don't think I don't respect what Aldo did. He was a beast for most of that fight, and managed to tuff it out in very difficult bout.
And yes, Hominick showed an amazing heart and should be lauded for his accomplishment.

I just get tired of hearing the "he was gassed" excuse as if it somehow negates a guy losing or having a poor performance. Stamina is an incredibly important part of the game, and if you don't have what it takes to go five full rounds, then you are not championship material. Unless of course you can finish all your fights early. Which is pretty damn hard at the championship level.

But, obviously you are not using it in that context, so I'm not bashing you. I pretty much agree with everything you said.
