Definitely not what I heard. Got a source? I'd like to see it. I'd be glad if they parted amicably. What I read sounded a little bit more like Rafael threw Nacho under the bus.
Funny you posted this gif Addie......the cleanest shot in that combo is the right hand that landed square on Tapia's jaw.......how does Tapia respond to being tapped with that "right"????? He sticks his jaw out as if to signal MAB, "oh, give me more of that soft stuff." Dont take it the wrong way Addie, I'm joking! ......or am I?:blood
Beautiful six punch combination. Marquez wouldn't have came even remotely close to stopping that Tapia at 126lbs either. I'm not surprised you didn't comment on the Ayala knockout. It's frighteningly good, isn't it? Even funnier that a while ago you claimed Barrera never started combination's with his right hand. You should know better than to talk to me about Barrera.
Tell me you're joking Addie, or is it that you're simply clueless on this matter? You do know that the fight previous to Tapia fighting MAB, Manuel Medina schooled, literally shuting out Tapia 12 rounds to zero only to have the judges give the flamboyant "Mi Vida Loca" the gift of his boxing career? I doubt there is a boxing fan in this forum who saw that Medina-Tapia fight who will tell you Johnny was even competitive in that fight. .......and it gets even more interesting my friend, in Medina's next outing after being shamelessly robbed vs Tapia, JMM put on a stylisticically beautiful, but brutal 7 round stomping on poor Medina that had him looking like a rank amatuer. JMM would have crucified the version of Tapia that fought MAB, and I may actually be giving Tapia the benefit of the doubt with that statement. The Johnny Tapia you're talking about Addie was already pretty much a shot fighter........and I'll even go as far as being fair to MAB in this case.......Tapia is a friend of MAB's and so in all honesty MAB likely held back some and did'nt go for the KO!
That's cute Divac, you thought I just learned something? I knew all that. To say Tapia wasn't even competitive with Medina is a load of rubbish though, but I understand how you work, you'll say anything to suit your agenda. You have a raging hard on for Marquez and have spend a good majority of your time on these forums discrediting his Mexican contemporaries. You'll just have to live with the fact that Marquez didn't beat the fighters the other two did, and therefore won't be looked on as favorably. On topic, Marquez was not a killer at 126lbs. In fact, he mostly fought subpar opposition and Barrera would have done something very similar to Medina. That much isn't really debatable, and if Salido and Polo can see the distance with peak Marquez, so will Johnny Tapia. Marquez would win, probably 9-10 rounds like Barrera did, but he won't be stopping Johnny.
I wont even debate you on the subject Addie, you're too emotionally attached to MAB as a fan to see anything other than Roses on the other end for MAB......... .......you're feeling the need to knock Marquez' opposition that if I countered back with what hurts, you'd have a hissy fit. I have no doubt that Tapia would come to fight against Marquez, and that would spell bad news and a KO in Marquez' favor against that shot version of Johnny Tapia.
And you're not? :nut What are you going counter back with? Marco holds two wins over Erik Morales, and undefeated, P4P rated Naseem Hamed in his first real fight at Featherweight? That Barrera was fighting world class opposition as early as 1996, whereas Marquez wasted the majority of his time at 126 fighting the likes of Medina and Peden? Thanks, Mr.Neutral. :good
two of my favourite fighters, they're both greats who are a joy to watch & make you proud to be a boxing fan.
Yep, unfortunately we did'nt get to see the best of JMM's prime at 126 lbs, as after Hamed kept petitioning sanctioning bodies to have Marquez (the mandatory) bypassed, the fighter clinging off of one of your nuts does the same right after beating Hamed. This is a proven fact Addie....It was already a story amongst the eductated boxing world that Hamed had refused to fight Marquez.......MAB dropped the title he won from Hamed because he did'nt want the pressure of being in Hamed's place and having to face JMM who was calling him out. You know this is true Addie.....When MAB beat Hamed, he said right after that he was'nt a true featherweight and that is best option would likely be to drop back to 122 lbs.....when JMM heard this, he Marquez said, "no problem, I can make 122 lbs!":deal True story people, and guess what? MAB never went back to 122 lbs. 3 of MAB's next 4 fights came fighting shot fighters at featherweight. The only true challenge of course the gift he got in the Morales rematch. What the hell was MAB doing fighting the likes of Sanchez, Tapia, and Kevin Kelley, while JMM was calling him out? .....and btw, MAB never responded to Marqeuz saying, "I can make 122 lbs!deal It can be said Addie, the fighter clinging off of one of your nuts ducked Juan Manuel Marquez. Yes, MAB ducked the featherweight of the mini-fab four generation!bbb:bbb
I don't get involved in the, "he ducked my boy, he was scared" debates because they are for little children. My post history is indicative of that. Marquez was very good, Barrera and Morales were great. :good
Oh of course......and losing bets and adourning Gay Avatars is for real men like yourself!:rofl:rofl:rofl:roflthat of course is not for children!:yep
