At the elite level are Rafael and Juan Manuel both a bit glass-jawed. Juan-Manuel v Barrera & Pac Rafa v Vasquez OR do they just get a bit carried away and throw too much leather at the wrong time, then get caught flush with shots that would put down most good fighters, sturdy chin or not?
They like to put on shows, they are warriors who think of winning and pleasing their fans, JMM has found the new style to be crowd pleasing and it's what he wants to do and it's what he likes to do. he can easily pot shot to victory but he like to FIGHT.
I'm not sure "chinny" is the word I'd use to describe either of them. They both have pretty solid beards, and maybe more importantly, the heart to fight through being wobbled or knocked down rather than folding under pressure. Even though they each lost their last fight, I think they're the best brother combo in the sport, ever.
Rafael is a little chinny IMO, but I wouldn't go as far as to say JMM is chinny.. He just gets hit with powerful connecting shots that lays him on his ass..
i wouldnt say they have bad chins altough they can be hurt.but that can happen when you face very good oponents that can punch.
Don't think they have "glass" chins, if they did one punch would've knocked them out cold, that's when you have a glass chin. They don't have iron jaws that's for sure but not glass either.
If your caught flush in the jaw by a powerful left from Pacquiao, you're bound to drop..:bbb Both brothers are good technicians, but if Rafael wasn't, he'd be rocked all the time IMO..
This is pretty much the way I would see it. Neither is iron-jawed, certainly, but Juan's is certainly sturdier than Raphael's, no question.
