Yeah, some people like to say Pac and May are the same size due to walking around weights, but there are two problems with that: 1. is that Manny simply doesn't know how to use his weight in the pocket properly like Floyd does, and 2. the quality of their weight is clearly different; Manny can feasibly make 140 easily and wore 144 with no problem, whereas clearly Floyd, who always stays in shape, couldn't get down there. Well, the jab to the body was the most effective, and that works against virtually everyone. But with more footspeed, JMM could have followed him on the retreat from it to land a bit more. To me, the size difference was important up close, but when Nacho mentioned JMM's "natural flexibility" lacking as well, it made sense when you looked at his relative lack of waist movement. He had his few moments slipping in the pocket when close to bait and land, but he was stiff and his own conditioning was probably more detrimental to him than the actual size difference IMO. And at the end of the day, the style clash and Floyd's ability don't do him any favors whatsoever.
floyd still would have toyed with him. floyd too slick also probably the reason honest bob didnt want to put pac in with him LOL
let me get this str8 so you say 2 pounds made the difference but you are asking who would win at 147?
Marquez wins 2 or 3 rounds at most, whilst the weight advantage did play a factor I still believe Mayweather would not have too much trouble with a smaller marquez
i seem to recall floyd having not fought in 18 months before this fight. he was rusty his combos looked somewhat sloppy and his straight right was somewhat slower than normal. he still won every round easily weight didnt matter at all. the floyd that fought cotto would tko3 marquez.
Mayweather beats Marquez comfortably from any weight between 130 to 147, nothing against Marquez but Mayweather is just that much superior to him.
As a big Marquez fan, I say that the JMM that fought Pac would have done better but still would have lost. PBF is just a better fighter. Floyd is and has been #1 p4p for a long time for a reason. That he has cherry picked and failed to make weight and taken some unfair advantages at different points in his career doesn't change that.
I don't know if I believe that. If he could have made 140, I believe he would have, because he's an incredibly hardworking athlete. If he couldn't, it's because he has too much quality muscle mass and would have to drain too much water. And if he simply chose not to, it's because it would have benefited from it significantly enough that he'd give up that money.
Heredia = conditioning coach?? REALLY??! Does the ts know who Heredia is??????? Marquez would never pass the first random test that Floyd will require with that guy!!!! AND THAT's what made the diff. with pacquiao. No more debate needed IMO.... Btw, I don't blame JMM 4 trying to level the playing field, but it was supremely obvious!!!
