Both are superior technicians to anyone in their weight divisions. Beyond this, they have a boxing IQ which is vastly superior to almost all their competition. They both occasionally use unfair tactics to continue to employ their styles. They both rely heavy on their jabs (you can dispute Mayweathers reliance on a jab, he uses it more economically than WK, doesn't mean the jab isn't a main part of his arsenal). Both would rather extend a fight to a points or "safe" win if it means taking/risking more damage.

I'm not knocking it. I enjoy both WK and Floyd. Not every department is the same but I believe their approach to and execution of their fight games have many similarities. When I watch both of these guys fight I see the same things popping out at me.

floyd is much better to watch in my eyes. his technical ability is absolutely sublime. he's not necessarily using profound height and reach advantages to achieve the same points win. he's also fighting a better level of competition, unquestionably, making it all the more impressive. wlad is an eyesore 90 percent of the time. jabbing and grabbing your opponent to death may get you wins, but it's not cool to watch in my opinion. the only time I watch a wlad fight is if his opponent is intriguing.

comparing him to floyd is ridiculous. floyd doesn't have the height, reach or weight advantages the slow, lumbering, passive/reluctant wlad enjoys.

if wlad was normal size with his skill set...we wouldn't even know his name. but if floyd was a heavyweight with his skill set...he'd be the greatest heavyweight of all time.

If Foyd was a heavyweight he'd be a Chris Byrd or Kevin Johnson type of fighter.. Not the greatest of all time lol. Size makes a difference you are right, but do you think Floyd would be able to fight the same if had HW frame? Obviously not... More than anything else Wlad is a great because of his skills, not his size.. Ustinov, Wach, Fields, Dimitrenko, Long should be doing great like Wlad if size plays that big of a role!

no...byrd and johnson don't have floyds skill set. skill set has absolutely nothing to do with size.

i stand by my statement. if floyd had his skill set in a heavywieght framed body....he'd be the best heavyweight ever.

This diesnt make sense. If it is true Wlad wouldn't be competitive in Floyd's weight classes because he doesnt use the same skills or fight peole nearly as skilled as Floyd. You can only judge a fighter in the division he fights on. Anything else is guesswork at best, especially over such a vast difference in weight classes.

Great post :good I prefer Wlad because I enjoy the potential KO involved. If these fighters were baseball, Wlad can hit the monster HR at anytime. Floyd wins with small ball, bunts, stealing bases, singles...

Both are the best in the Biz IMO :good

Wladimir is a good technician and he does possess decent ring IQ, but really, Floyd is in a different league entirely.

To mention Wlad and Floyd in the same sentence regarding skills is beyond belief.

i hope i'm not the only one who finds this offensive towards Floyd.

Floyd: actual skill in many areas on display against fighters his own size who also have skill.

Wlad: has a bit of skill, but is mainly ****. uses his size to beat weak unproven trash that are being lauded as genuine contenders (they're not, they're ****ing bums) cheats by climbing on top of them, grabbing hold every time they get close.
against slow fighters it appears that Wlad has good control of range when it fact he doesn't, as proven by anyone who closes range on him. he doesn't step back when using the jab to have them walk into a set up shot, he simply grabs hold of them. repeatedly.

he can't fight off the back foot to save his life. he doesn't even use the jab properly, he just sticks it out way in front to keep the bums from getting close. his straight right hand is seen in a fight as much as Lord Lucan is seen down the local paper shop.
sometimes he turns his left hand into a short hook, but this is again very rare and is never used in a consistent way.

half the time, Floyd can be mesmerizing to watch.

Wlad though, apart from a couple of times, is utter ****ing dire to watch. so bad in fact, that he makes John Ruiz look like the rebirth of a prime Joe Frazier.

don't ever, ever put these two in the same sentence again. it's utterly disrespectful.

    Thanks.

No it isn't. Wlad holds. He straight up cheats.
