Which is why I never purchase a Mayweather PPV. He had blownup Marquez on his last leg for several rounds and wouldn't step on the gas. :patsch

Floyd is not good for boxing in a sense that his fan base is overwhelmingly boxing aficionados. He is not expanding boxing's popularity.

When he picks his opponent he is inconsistent with his reasons. Early in his career he did take chances with Corrales and such. But not anymore. Mayweather is trying to balance the desire to have big pay days and maintain that perfect record. His reputation as a p4p king NOW is purely on past achievements and perceived skill level. I say perceived because it is untested at the highest level. He should be fighting Mosley, Berto, Margarito and such. His selection is never the obvious ones. He constantly needs to defend it. Yeah Mosley might be older but compare that to Matthew Hatton. It is laughable.

Boxing fans do come and watch his fight. But he is not expanding that, unlike Pac who has a following beyond boxing fans. Yes, all top boxers in his position has to deal with the same criticims, including Pacquiao. But if you declare yourself the best boxer of your generation, his smack talking is not backing up is choice for competition.

And lets be honest, without ODLH fight, Mayweather would have never been a 1 mill PPV fighter.

Also, Mayweather and his defenders should really accept the criticism about being too defensive. It is a LEGIT tactic. But don't complain when fans say you are boring. Not everyone enjoy that tactic just like not everyone like sloppy brawling. It allows Mayweather to win and look good but it does bore people. Live with it. If you want popular praise then do what the mass wants. If not, then fine. Deal with it.

You mean untested at the highest level in his 4th weight class, which is welterweight. Diego Corrales, Castillo, Hernandez, 154lb DLH were every bit as good as Cotto, Margacheato and an old Mosley

I dont think you'd find anyone who would think that Cotto and Cheato were better then Corrales and Castillo p4p.

But Cotto and Margarito is not even in the discussion. Corrales and Castillo I give him credit but that was earlier in his career when boxers wanting big pay days and respect are seeking those fights - just like Malign' wants Diaz and Pac, like Berto wants Mosley, Martinez wants Williams, etc.

I give him credit for those fights. I am not taking that away from him. But he is at his PEAK NOW when he should be taking bigger risks but he is doing the opposite. He is taking PPV friendly yet easier fights. There is just enough perceived risk (see JMM) that is makes it PPV viable.

There was nothing defensive about it. Fact is that Skeleton of De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao was not exciting. It was one-sided with a guy who had no energy. The fact that someone listed Mayweather vs. Gatti has nothing to do with you making a bad pick yourself. Don't deflect.

You clearly have a sorely limited knowledge of Floyd's career based on a number of your posts. You start watching boxing with "The World Awaits"?

You think Pacquiao vs DLH wouldn't be put on classics if they could get it?

    Come on.

I don't like arguing with biased people over fights, it goes nowhere.

you're right in the essence of what you're trying to say because floyd does cheapen boxing by not proving the quality we all know he has.

Not a fan of floyd's antics. Am a floyd of his talent in the ring.

Where is the bias there? I am giving the guy his props, I always have.
He is just a liar, who contradicts himself a bunch.

he was talking common sense from what i read. if he was talking **** and it was that bad you'd be able to pull him down fair and square rather than just raise questions but not put yourself on the line at all.

    Thank you for using logic.
I forget some people know how to apply it.

It's easier to say that than it is to find a contradiction from me. You post on everything I say, not the other way around. We both know why that is.
